You'd think they would be using slugs by default. Buckshot is pretty silly against heavy armor. Also dear god the Rattlesnake is too powerful
-
The accurate shotgun might make sense if they fix the hilariously broken shotgun mechanics. Personally, I've found an Eagle Rifle with a compensator and acough scope (totally not ACOG) is insanely useful. I racked up 60 kills (including 7 specials) on a short bank robbery with an accuracy of at least 40%. One headshot takes out the non-heavy green cops.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeYkW7FmlBQ I don't have context for this, but I don't think it would help. -
The forum died as I tried to post this. 10/10 I might install the DynMap plugin if my CPU usage is relatively tame. It takes a fair bit of resources to keep it running real-time. If that fails, I'll use a different one that generates a webmap every 24 hours. Yes. Yep. We have a good cable connection. I have excellent latency in most games (15-20 ms for in-state servers, for example). However, I'm nowhere near where the server used to be, as I live just south of Houston. That's probably the source of your lag.

Payday 2 is Left 4 Dead for anarchists Revelations 2012 is Left 4 Dead for the clinically insane

Can we rob bigspuf? There must be tens of thousands of rep for the taking.

I'll be free tonight.

Guy showed me how to do the Payday thing so I'm a little more familiar with stealth now. If anyone wants to run a few games together later today I'd be interested.

First impressions of Day One: Garry's Incident: Graphics are okay but the framerate is abysmal. I got stuck without any indication of what to do at least once and then died because I walked through a crate and imploded. Combat makes no sense whatsoever and is laggy enough that I can do little more than spam the mouse button. QTE's are incredibly easy and very repetitive. Worldbuilding is handled about as well as the Titanic handled icebergs. The number of patronizing tooltips is absurd. Puzzles are trivial. Overall I give it 7/10 because it wasn't Guise of the Wolf.

I fixed a wireless problem on my server by restarting it, from what I've deduced. The restart button is magical. I've had weird issues with Steam from time to time, though. It starts normally, but the Windows Firewall prompt comes up and says that it's located at the following path: C[number]:.... I've seen C0, C9, C6, etc. It makes absolutely no sense and doesn't seem to impede functionality at all. I found nothing on google. It might have something to do with it being on an external drive. Dunno.

PETA Claims Milk Causes Autism

The problem is that the definition of "stupid" is extraordinarily subjective. -
I have decent experience with CS, although I haven't played in a while and I've never touched Global Offensive (save for the beta, which I disliked). Most of my talent comes from the fact that I'm a twitchy lunatic with good snap-aiming skills. Isn't that basically all you need to be a good Counter-Strike player?

I got: Torchlight 2 Assassin's Creed 2 Bulletstorm Sleeping Dogs Borderlands 2 DAY ONE GARRY'S INCIDENT JESUS CHRIST Planetary Annihilation Insurgency Saints Row IV Payday 2 (and DLC)
-
I have acquired Payday 2,000 and all of the weapon/mission DLC. Sounds like it'll be gud.
-
Coming into this thread without context is somewhat alarming. Is Payday 2 significantly better than Payday 1? I found the first title to be a bit bland.

Status report: 500 TNT will not crash the server 25,000 TNT will lag the server for an undue amount of time, cause the fan to go to max speed, and make it beep angrily at me, but it won't really crash Two people flying at max speed will strain the server, but it still serves up new chunks Seems pretty stable so far.

That might murderize my computer, but I can try. I'll probably be running a second server for my college dorm, though, so I wouldn't be able to maintain that along with a second vanilla Bukkit server.
-
Double post because information and stuff. I managed to get wireless networking to function on my linux box with a spare adapter I had lying around (!!!), so I now have a fully functioning machine. It's currently running a 1.7.2 Bukkit server. You can access it at 76.30.144.184 Give it a try and see how well it runs. I'm not sure what kind of latency the wireless will give. I'd also like to test how it holds up to things like TNT spam and rapid exploration.

http://www.peta.org/blog/got-autism-billboard-gets-pulled/ JESUS CHRIST. They just managed to combine two different completely bogus claims in one quote. People like this are the bane of rationality. -

I tried to buy someone a gift code once but Mojang doesn't accept Discover and using my Visa debit card required some sort of insane verification thing that never worked.

Second is closer. More RAM is better, IIRC The only problem is that the game runs on a single thread (from my understanding), so the CPU is relatively weak. I need to either get the wireless drivers working or wire it up directly to the router, so I might be able to test it out sometime soon.

I own two old computers which might be able to support it. The first has a single core 3.2 (or 3.4?) gHz CPU and 1 GB of RAM. The second has a quad-core 2.2 gHz CPU and 3 GB of RAM. How do those compare to the specs of the current server?
