So yeah, I downloaded the game a few days ago and it seems pretty fun except for how badly I suck. First BR game I've every played. Opinions lads?

Really, colors go in order of importance. Since blue is the most important color in the game, it's always said first. I can write up the slimefoot list in a bit, it's always getting a bit fiddled about and such. Main thing is Rune-Scarred Demon is a very, very powerful creature.

Can you imagine not understanding that simic or UGx is the ultimate color combination always and forever?

hi friends just noticed this thread exist anyways i play a lot of commander my favorite colors are simic here are the decks I have: Kruphix, God of Horizons - Big ramp, big mana, big eldrazi. Just goodstuff, only combo is an incidental one from doubling cube + capsize. Derevi, Empyreal Tactician - Value flicker-based deck capable of grinding with the best of them, main win-conditions (other than shear value and oppression through Opposition and flicking removal creatures) are Approach and Palinchron combos. Slimefoot, the Stowaway - grindy graveyard-centric golgari value, can reliably tutor urborg coffers. Inalla, Archmage Ritualist - wizard tribal combo deck, wins typically with one of the following: Wanderwine prophets, Dualcaster Mage + Ghostly Flicker, Ashnod's Altar + Bloodline Necromancer. Nezahal, Primal Tide - voltron control deck, has a Sunder to make stalling for the kill easy. Estrid the Masked - modified precon enchantress, definitely the worst of my decks I keep wanting to build Najeela WUBRG goodstuff/split cards tribal.

I've got an SSD in my current one, but it's super heavy and has trash battery life even with the expanded battery. I'm just getting a new 2in1, I like the form factor and I can pay for it with scholarship money without going into debt.

If you've never tried mobas like League or Dota (or have and disliked them), try Heroes of the Storm. The learning curve is not as steep for several reasons, foremost being much simpler in-game progression via talents as you level instead of a shop and that XP is shared for the entire team so there is no "last hitting". Additionally, teamfights are longer meaning there's more interaction and games are shorter meaning there is less of a time commitment per game. Additionally, the "laning" phase is much shorter than in other mobas, meaning you get to the action faster. Finally, there are different maps with various objective phases that help whichever team takes them win the game (for example, Braxis Holdout has points you must hold that eventually will summon a large wave of Zerg to attack enemies).
