barbershop god only knows is the only thing from that game that stuck with me but boy did it stick with me Yeah, the same person, but different genders in different realities. They started communicating with each other by vibrating particles and eventually tore open a rift (i forget what they were called in infinite) to meet each other. They were the ones who pretty much kick off the entire story by giving Comstock the ability to see into other realities, since he funded their research. Comstock eventually turns on them using their own technology (i forget why) and basically scatters them to the quantum wind, allowing them to exist in some kind of flux across multiple realities. I think they guide Booker into the universe the story takes place in because theu want him to find Elizabeth which would fuck up Comstock's shit in the process as some kind of revenge.

    Best superpower?

Teleportation could potentially be ridiculously OP depending on how your powers work. I've always thought if a teleporter combined their abilities with firearms they could go on an instakill rampage. And can you teleport things other than yourself? Cool. Teleport cars into the air and drop them on people. Pull the pin on a grenade, wait a few seconds and teleport it into another room. Teleport motherfucker's lungs out of their bodies. Telefrag someone into a wall. The list is endless. If I had to pick one though I think I'd go with Fleshsmith. Depending on how powerful your control over your organic makeup is you would have a ridiculous number of adaptations at your disposal. That grants you a shitload of sub-abilities (shapeshifting, regeneration, super strength to name a few), it counters a lot of other abilities and it would allow you to render yourself virtually indestructible, potentially more-so than a traditional re-generator, even.

    The Binding of Isaac

I've been thinking about modding BOI and to that end I've been knocking around some ideas lately. I was wondering if anyone had thoughts or criticisms of a character I came up with recently, and if it sounds fun/viable. I think it would be interesting to get more in depth with managing types of health as a way to modify how a particular character works. To that end I was thinking of one that has different perks and transformations based on what kind of health he has. In demonology there's a guy called Aamon who is basically part wolf, part snake and part owl that I thought might translate well to this idea. Here's how Aamon works: Aamon spawns with one full heart container, one soul heart and one black heart. Aamon has all transformations through pickups or items disabled (no Guppy, no Yes Mother, etc). Aamon also has all forms of damage resistance through pickups or items disabled (except for power pill and other temporary invulnerability items). However, Aamon receives damage resistance and can transform when using certain types of hearts. Every heart gives Aamon a 9% chance to negate damage from a particular source. Full red heart containers have a change to negate almost all kinds of contact damage, Soul Hearts can negate damage from tears and Black Hearts can negate damage from explosions. So if Aamon has three full heart containers and six soul hearts he has a 27% change to negate contact damage he receives and a 54% chance to do the same with tears. With a full health bar of any given type, he will totally negate damage from that source. As noted I think you'd have to disable compatibility with items like Infamy or Host Hat considering someone could really easily combine those in ways that would make him totally invincible, although maybe that would be half of the fun. Aamon also has different transformations if the player uses one particular type of health exclusively. I'm not sure how these would work but so far I have the following: With only red hearts he becomes The Wolf, pairing his contact damage resistance with extra speed and a Polyphemus effect. With only soul hearts he becomes the Owl, granting flight and a crystal ball/the mind mapping effect. With all black hearts he becomes the Serpent which enhances the necronomicon effect of all black hearts, causing all enemies killed by them to subsequently explode. He also gains the effect of Shiny Rock. One thing to note is that Transformations don't boost damage resistance though, so a Serpent with 8 black hearts still only has a 72% chance to negate explosive damage. These transformations can also change at any time and overwrite each other. If Aamon has all red hearts and uses Guppy's Paw once, he'll transform back from Wolf to regular old Aamon and retain none of the Wolf's perks. Using the paw again it to replace all his red hearts will transform him into the Owl and so on. I think forcing players to make decisions about going for perks and knowing what kind of perks they want to target or having a lot of health and more diverse damage resistance could be interesting, but it might just be bad and/or broken as fuck. Tell me what you think, Subspuf.

finally saw rogue one + shooty action was cool + spacey action was cool + special effects were cool + robot was cool + darth vader killing people was hella cool + sad endings are cool + i like jimmy smitts even though he didn't get to do much before he leaves to get blowed up in the next movie - characters were weak (except the robot who was cool) - actors sucked because their characters were weak (except alan tudyk who played the robot who was cool) - Mads Mikkelsen totally wasted - blind monk trope lame as shit - blind monk friend with big gun didn't have a character or a character arc - forest whittaker character was lame as shit and was given nothing to do - cgi carrie fisher was lame as shit (RIP ) - cgi peter cushing was impressive, but holy shit why did they think that was a good idea - every non-killing-people vader scene was just james earl jones sounding like very old dying man in a bad costume - music was shit (the guy had four weeks to make a john williams level knockoff and it went as well as you'd expect) - writing and dialogue were mostly shit - big dumb explody tidal waves made the death star lame as fuck - fanservice was almost all terrible and distracting - in no way stands on its own merits outside of the rest of the franchise (see: fanservice) overall 9.9/10 can't wait to taste star wars drop a sweet and salty load in my mouth again next year hope it makes a billion dollars

    TIAM: General Gaming edition

a few thoughts so far: - The art is really inconsistent. Some of it looks up to previous standards but on occasion I come across a sprite or something that looks like absolute shit. - I do like the three new floor bosses. They all seem pretty difficult right now but I think (with the exception of the Sisters Vis who's being rebalanced) they're all pretty fair and it'll just take some time to learn how to deal with them. Big Horn's animations don't look so great but he's the coolest of the three. - I haven't actually fought the new end boss yet but he seems lame. The whole "transforming into other bosses" is an interesting idea but it just looks like shit when the boss's head doesn't have any fucking animation. At least they gave enough of a shit to re-skin all of his transformations but that's a pretty sad excuse for a new boss, let alone something that's supposed to be on par with Mega Satan/The Hush. A lot of people are saying "Well it's a small DLC, you can't expect some elaborate boss fight" but that's the whole problem. They shouldn't have added a new end boss if they didn't have time to make it a good one. It could have been a decent alternate boss rush or something. Right now it's just hugely disappointing. - Greedier Mode is WAY too fucking difficult. I get that it's a hard mode but some of the shit that spawns in makes me think that most people are going to get wrecked by it regardless of skill level which makes it based almost entirely around luck. I've pretty much accepted that I'm never going to 100% the game now. That being said, Ultra Greed's second form is a pretty awesome fight - maybe one of the best things about the DLC - and assuming I ever reach it again I look forward to getting my teeth kicked in. - Portals are okay but not on the first floor or two. At that point you usually don't have the DPS required to clear them depending on the arrangement of the room, which basically means you're fucked. My other main gripe is that they spawn different types of enemies seemingly at random which can make attacking them frustrating since you're never sure what's about to pop out. If there were different portal types for specific enemies, I think it'd be an improvement. - The other new enemies aren't exciting but I don't have anything to complain about. Mini Monstros are fine. Blisters are fine. Things compliment the other Wall Creeps nicely so they're fine. Mushrooms are fine. I thought the Stone enemies were a terrible addition until I realized they don't deal contact damage. Knowing that I'm okay with an enemy that's pretty much just a moving obstacle. Fine. - The new character is pretty OP given the right circumstances. Otherwise most of the new items seem to add very little to the game. - Integrated "Found HUD" is a good thing. - I haven't run across any "FUCK YOU" item rooms but the fact that they exist at all is complete bullshit. Overall a very mixed bag but maybe not quite as cancerous as it first seemed. Like, Stage II or III cancer at worst. I probably won't uninstall it just yet. Also apparently there will be a monthly addition of the best mods to the game, permanently. Imagine if Antibirth actually gets officially added...

  18. Which is racist, because your assumption is somehow only white people can uphold the constitution. As long as people abide by the principles laid out by the founding fathers it shouldn't matter what their skin color is or where they come from, but you seem to think differently. I think what that really comes down to is a fear that if people of color hold power, they'll treat white people who white people treated people of color. "My people have benefited from imperialism and the subjugation of other races for hundreds of years, but now because of all of these Mexicans pouring into my country, my kids might have to learn fucking Spanish! Oh the horror of being white!" Are you people serious? Now, I can understand the idea that immigrants tip the scales in favor of the Democrats which unbalances the two parties, but if the Republicans are unable to adapt or compromise, that's on them. As far as what I see they refuse to do this, by the way. If anything they've become even more extreme and pandered to more radicals over the last decade which is making their situation even worse. Why should the Republicans deserve to have any power when they insist on making themselves more and more socially irrelevant?

  20. The assumption that our concept of racism by definition is hating everyone and wanting to "give those fucking niggers their due" is also in some respects a straw man argument. You can be racist without having to be some kind of genocidal clan member caricature because systematic racism manifests itself in a multitude of extremely subtle ways and it's easy to buy into it in ways we don't even think about. For instance, telling a black person they're well spoken because you assumed they wouldn't be or making assumptions about the character of Mexican immigrants that you might not make about the character of European immigrants or like, wholeheartedly believing you're in some kind of protracted race war taking place on a global scale in which everyone who isn't part of your ethnic is coming to destroy your way of life
  21. Fine. Here's a serious response to some of the arguments you've just put forward. No argument here. The DNC dropped the ball on this shit hard. That doesn't make Trump a better candidate though. If anything it diminishes his achievement to know how badly the DNC mismanaged this election. Woo hoo. Stereotypes of what? Things he has literally said and done? Not really. The republican party and the conservative media have been pandering to the far right for years now. Trump is just an opportunist who realized as long as he took it just a step or two further than the other candidates were willing to he'd be able to swoop and and grab those sweet sweet votes. Of course liberal media will go after Trump, but let's not pretend like Fox doesn't do the same bullshit to Obama. They will put him on blast for even the most petty detail as long as they think their demographic will eat it up. That's how the media works on both sides. And hey, if they do give Trump a harder time than they did Obama, it's probably because Obama keeps his behavior in check and hasn't been recorded talking about grabbing women by the pussy. Trump is his own worst enemy with that kind of controversy and all the media wants is views. Of course they're going to report on that kind of shit. He's probably going to threaten LGBT rights considerably. Hell, Mike Pence supports fucking gay conversion therapy. He's also going to try and "cancel" the paris climate agreement which could have huge long terms ramifications worldwide. Don't bother getting into a sub-argument with me here about climate change. It is real, the science supports it and the only reason your party denies (read: blatantly lies to you about it) it is because the oil industry is stuffing money up their asses while they give them a petroleum lubed R.A. He's also expressed a disinterest in protecting our fellow NATO allies which could also have huge long terms ramifications worldwide. So as with any potential president, there are lots and lots of ways he could fuck a lot of things up for a lot of people. Are we really still getting fixated on the dumb-ass wall as a major policy issue? In a few sentences I think you basically just said "Don't worry about President Trump fucking all the shit up by himself" followed by "however I'm very concerned about how President Obama has been fucking all the shit up by himself". What makes you think Trump won't abuse his power? If anything he'll have a fuckton more of it. Let's not forget that whenever the republicans had a majority in congress they pretty much refused to compromise with Obama and have openly admitted to blocking him for any and all reasons which is in part why he's resorted to taking executive action. Prime example: it is basically fucking impossible to pass any kind of reasonable gun control laws past the republicans because the NRA is stuffing money up their asses while the oil industry takes a smoke break. I'm sure what the Republicans don't want to tell you is that they are fucking thrilled he resorted to this. They've been trolling him for as long as they can get away with it and when he finally resorts to throwing his weight around, they get to paint him as the villain. Once Trump takes office he will have the support of the senate and will be making at least one supreme court appointment. So no, I don't just worry about "one election". I worry about the conservatives rolling back what little progress we've been able to make and fucking up a lot of lives in the process.
