I grew up with the harry potter books, I could read from a relatively early age and I'm pretty sure the first was one of the first real books I read. I remember queuing at midnight for hardbacks of order of the phoenix with my parents so we'd each have one to read on holiday. (Also the last one came out 8 years ago? Fuck I feel old) If you're intimidated by the size of the second one I don't know what to fucking say -

I remember saying Death Parade was good. The ending was awful. I think the show had a really good concept and gave you a lot of things to think about with the whole betting your life on a game and questioning morality and what is a life lived well and stuff...but then they just stop with that. Oh well. Although it isn't currently airing, we also finished a romcom (with a lot more com than rom) called Seto No Hanayome, which I would say was one of the funnest experiences I've had watching a show with friends, only matched by Nichibros. It's about a kid called Nagasumi who is rescued from drowning by a mermaid girl, and the only way to prevent her from being executed by mermaid law, for showing herself to a human, is to marry into her family. However, her father is a mermaid yakuza boss who is all for another solution - having Nagasumi rubbed out. It draws a lot of its humour from references and lampshading cliches and character archetypes but it just works somehow. This season thoughts: JOJO Still great. We are just getting into the revered "DIO's World" arc that is considered one of the best parts of the whole series. Not much else to say apart from that it's a lot of fun. Shokugeki no Souma Probably my favourite show this season. A stupid over the top shounen set in a high school with maybe just a little bit of ecchi. The main character is the son of a chef in a small diner who is sent to the most prestigious culinary school in Japan, where students have to constantly fight for the right to remain there in cook offs known as 'shokugeki'. The cool part is how much actual attention to detail goes on in the cooking sequences. The shounen part of it comes from how the protag gets around a certain obstacle at the last second (having limited ingredients, having his meat sabotaged by an antagonist dumping a load of salt on it) and the way he gets around it is usually very clever. But it's all stuff you can actually do yourself, all of the recipes used are available to use (they're printed in the manga, I think). Well, I say you can do it yourself, but the food you make probably won't have the same effect on those who eat it as it does in the show. Unless they're really turned on by food. It's fantastic and it looks so good that it just makes me hungry watching it. Would really recommend it. Kekkai Sensen Set 3 years after a rift opens between worlds in New York, closing off the city and bringing in a bunch of alien monsters who then coexist peacefully with humanty. Well, not entirely. A secret organisation called Libra struggles to maintain the balance and stop this one monster guy who wants to cause anarchy and fuck everything up. I've only watched 3 episodes but the universe seems really neat. I think I need to watch more of it to get a good understanding but it's good so far. It screams the 90s and with the sorta futuristic world and jazz-backed action sequences it reminded me heavily of Cowboy Bebop. Hibike! Euphonium A girl enters high school and joins the brass band club. The club decides to shoot for winning the national championships. It's another cute KyoAni slice of life, and though I thought it'd be K-On with trombones it's become a bit more than that with them having a lot more focus on practicing music and having this goal of achieving something (this was in K-On as well but they never even came close to it). But yeah it's still cute and the characters are nice. Kiniro Mosaic S2 Another cute SoL about an English girl who moves to Japan to live with her friend, who is in love with the English and blonde hair. Not much to say about it other than it's more of the same and pretty much what I expected. It's cute and there are undertones of forbidden love. Also Season 1 had one of the best, out-of-nowhere climaxes I've ever seen in this sort of show and I'm excited to see them try to do something similar this season. Ninja Slayer From Animation I was so blown away by this I can't remember what it was about. Just a warm feeling of enlightenment. It was only the one episode so I'll have to watch more.

Moonsetter is a lovely song was there any reason so much emphasis on Dave and Karkat being together? they seemed pretty intimate after the original meteor flight, best bros or whatever, but idk. at least, they were shown not to be fighting over Terezi It's mostly because of the pause but I'm having a little trouble keeping track of what else is different in this iteration. John and Roxy are dead (with the originals set to enter the new version). Is Aranea no longer a thing? I can't remember what happened to the ring. If she isn't then she never heals Jake's mind, which allowed him to do the crazy Hope stuff.

I think I got pretty close to getting all the achievements for the orange box on xbox 360. I was quite proud of getting Little Rocket Man and the One Free Bullet, I was just missing a couple of portal challenges iirc
