Temur Ascendancy is going straight into my Animar deck. It's literally got everything that deck desperately needs-haste and that sweet, sweet card draw. Also, I might actually buy a whole box this year, if the rest of KtK is this good. Mostly for the fetchlands-they're gonna hopefully be cheap enough to actually enable me to get into Modern. Grixis control, anyone?

Danny Pink is going to end up being co-companions with Clara, so I'm guessing the soldier theme they established this episode is going to be very relevant to how he interacts with the Doctor. Very much so, I'd say-especially since the Doctor straight-up said today that he doesn't like soldiers one bit. It's gotta be said as well-I am LOVING the new Doctor. I hate using the term "darker and edgier", but holy shit he really is. The way he was fucking brilliant. He's assholish, cynical and just doesn't give a shit anymore and I love it. Someone on Reddit said it pretty well-what he's doing here (sending innocent people to their deaths to further his cause) isn't new. 10 and 11 did this all the fucking time. The difference here is that 12 knows what he's doing, knows that he's done this forever now and that he's not going to stop doing it. So he's embracing it now-no more "I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry"'s from this Doctor.

So there's this new 'prank' going around where people call SWAT teams on youtubers while they're streaming and get them arrested on camera. Kootra from the Creatures got arrested earlier today: Seriously...wtf. How the hell is this a prank? This isn't the first time this has happened either, there are a few other people who've gotten swatted in the past few days.

My friends got me Dragonslayer Pantheon for my birthday. Fucking awesome.

My best friend finally started watching Doctor Who. He's on Series 2 now, and he's really enjoying it. He did think that the Christmas episode was really really dumb though, as well as part 1 of the Cyberman story (in his words, "OH FUCK THERE'S A SECOND ONE?!). It's kind of nice hearing his reactions to everything, and he refuses to let me tell him which episodes are good or not. He wants to watch them all in order without skipping anything. I can't fucking wait until he gets to Love and Monsters.

I wouldn't go so far as to call Gnar shit tier, but he is indeed incredibly hard-probably the toughest champ I've ever played. His kit makes it so that your first transformation is almost always jussssst before you hit level 2, which is a super easy way to give first blood if you don't know exactly when it's coming. His range in mini-gnar form is also fairly pathetic-you'll be using your boomerang to farm a lot. He's a high-risk, high-reward champ whose kit is the reason why you have to be so risky. But if you play him right he's a monster. No pun intended.

I've had my eye on Firefighter Tristana for a really long time, but I could never get it because it's a) a Legacy skin and 1820 RP. But today it was on sale for 910! And with the RP I had in my wallet already, it only cost me 5 bucks to get. I like to think Rito knew it was my birthday...

I suspect SWAT teams are significantly better trained than street cops. Idk, the Creatures (the group this guy belongs to) has a lot of realistic-looking prop guns that they use in their videos and stuff. If one of those had been in the room when the SWAT guys came in, or if one of the office dogs had been there at the time...I feel like shit would've gone down even moreso than it did.

I'm loving the new structure. Very Lorwyn-esque. And the thought of 3 blocks in Standard (while simultaneously shortening the length everything is IN standard) is very neat-this is going to help the format a LOT. Might even make the price of actually getting into Standard drop quite a bit.

So rumor's going around that Jenna Coleman's leaving at Christmastime. I'm actually kind of ambivalent about it-I'm still not 100% sold on her, she just has no personality on the show. So eh.

I think you're missing the best part of the wedge lands-THEY'RE UNCOMMON! Which means that they're actually going to be not several dollars! Also, Wizards also confirmed a rare cycle of lands as well, which means that mana fixing for this block is going to be awesome. Also, pulled a Mirari's Wake today. Pretty happy about that.

I've been doing a lot of sorting of my collection before I go back to school, since everything's kind of gotten spread out and mixed up. So far, I've filled an entire fat pack box with rares, found almost 30 different legendary creatures that aren't in any deck yet (although a few of them, like Jaya Ballard are on the "waiting list" for their own decks) and best of all, 10 copies of Rakdos Cackler, including 4 FNM promo editions. I guess I collect those now, then...
