Arcade trip was fun, actually got to meet up with some friends I haven't seen in person in about a year. Also got to play the prototype of the cancelled Beavis and Butthead arcade game. Other highlights were the Japanese Left4Dead2 cabinet, the Metal Gear Solid 4 online cabinet with the VR glasses and the big gun controller, The First-Person-Whipper Castlevania Arcade cabinet, next to the FPS Silent Hill Shooter, and the F-ZeroGX/Mario Kart Arcade Cabinets. Oh, and SBFP Matt was there!

If you do pick it up, just remember that the season pass characters are actually paid/unlocks now with the cash shop being out. You *can* get everyone for free with fight money, the combined story modes of the vanilla cast granting enough for at least one free guy. But otherwise expect to invest time or money to unlock the rest. I'm pretty sure there are less scrupulous methods of unlocking guys for offline play, but I haven't done it.

Say what you will, but I'm impressed with how much work went into the Story mode. Everything is in engine and all the side characters have high-detail models. Balrogs fun as heck too, even though I have no idea how to play him yet. That mini turn-punch apparently combos into a lot of stuff. And his V-Trigger Rush punches are great, five in a row ended by a gigaton punch CA if you have the meter. Also Story mode giving us a peek of Urien and Juri Early. Urien already feels fun as heck and I dig that he already has a suit outfit, compared to SF3 where he was roman underpants man. Not sure what to make of Juri.

And that they definitely won't be used as canon fodder. The Bonk bros refuse however on the grounds that they have already formed a party and got matching outfits and everything. Being a fifth wheel would just really be a drag. You ask the hooligans to let you pass, citing Jenkins as a friend of yours, before they can answer you attempt to march past the barricade and enter the store. The Bonk Bros. quickly catch onto your antics and use their special BonkBros-Homerun technique to knock you back down the steps. It's clear a civil approach isn't going to work isn't going to work with these self proclaimed Bostonians. Since the diplomatic approach didn't work, Stealth is the next option. Using a conveniently located Trashcan, you attempt to bypass the gang of Scouts. Seems they're too keen for that. SallyJack uses Tattle! Acting upon Sally Jack's Advice, you decide to benchpress the nearest heavy object to intimidate the hooligans. The nearest object happens to be a camper van. You manage to impress them with a few reps before the weight of the van overwhelms you. Fortunately a quick application of Sally Jack's Medigun puts you back in top shape. You challenge the Bonk Bros to a "Break Dance" battle, unbeknownst to them this is not a hip hop dance competition, but instead breaking faces to the beat. SallyJack backs you up by popping his stored ubercharge and you charge forth into battle! Capitalizing on the ubercharge, You awkwardly beat the Yellow Bonk Bro to death with the Green Bonk Bro. By BASHING THEIR HEADS TOGETHER, this counts as JUMPING DAMAGE and they take extra damage for UNSPECIFIED REASONS Two Down, Two to go. There's still some ubercharge left, which you use to Rip out one of the defeated Scout's Spines Which you then to terrorize and pummel the Blue Bonk Bro to death with. Unfortunately, Jack's Ubercharge wears off right after this leaving one last Bonk Bro to deal with without it. The Red Bonk Bro tries to use the special technique Homerun, but with his three cohorts disposed of the power is reduced by 75% You are able to endure the attack with your STRONG AMERICAN FACEBONES and retaliate with one of your own. Monster Hunter Generations Demo is fun as heck. Super moves are fun to pull off and don't feel imba based on how badly you can whiff them. Also feels like monster health is probably tweaked to account for them. Palico mode is basically what I thought it would be. They assigned the NPC moveset to the player and tied the horns/super moves to a charge up bar The bar builds by attacking and cat supers consume different amounts of charge pips depending on what it is. It might actually be really helpful to have a Player Palico Bard on endgame quests since they have the potential for infinite group heals and not being dead all the time like NPC palicoes. Definitely gonna be jumping back on the Monster Hunter Train come this july.
