For the online I just, *ahem* aquired, lots of GTA bux to play around with all the toys. But it's a pretty barren experience if you're logging by yourself. Most of my fun online comes from screwing around with friends At the very least, there's a mod available to add all the MP content into singleplayer.

It's that time Again, Splatoon 2 Splatfest time! This month's theme is Bad Christmas Gift! Would you rather receive a Christmas Sweater or Christmas Socks? Christmas Sweater gets my vote because even an dorky sweater can be comfy.
  3. Holy shit Firefox 57 is so bad. I haven't had a gag reflex this bad since the Australis rollout years ago. I thought to myself "Ah I should probably update my browser since it's acting a little jank" and no sooner had I seen the new UI than I'd downgraded back to my old version. Not only did it destroy a bunch of addons I use, but the Classic theme restorer is not only busted, but Mozilla straight up removed the APIs required to support it ( and said they won't be adding them either) Time to find a new browser I guess.

Nier Automata stands totally on its own. You'll just miss out on some references and backstory if you didn't play/watch the first one. Extra curricular reading just fleshes out the universe. You don't even really need Nier1 honestly.

If the motion controls are what turned you off, you can disable them. (Also, probably not playing the event this time but voted Team Sci-Fi anyway)

I was really lucky today and managed to buy a SNES Classic (without paying scalpers). The Menu is super charming and if you afk Mario takes over and starts randomly loading games. Star Fox runs bad, which is cool, because emulators run it good and it runs (I assume) how it would on the OG hardware. Chill Penguin is a wimp. I am bad at Donkey Kong. F-Zero starts out easy but then the sand zone blows you up. And I haven't started yet, but am excited to play Earthbound and SMRPG on something that's not a keyboard. Also Final Fantasy 3 (6) is on there, dunno anything about it! But it's supposed to be good! There's also this neat replay feature that saves the last forty seconds or so of gameplay. So you can either load a savestate or pick up just before you jumped into those spikes. I know you can just emulate all these (and a bunch are even on virtual console), but there's just something fun about having a bite sized SNES packed with retro goodies.

So whats the deal with potions? Are they still wiped like the first time they did them or do they stick and just get turned off most of the year. I didn't play Scream Fortress last year so Idk anything about soul pits and Gauhgoyles.

Fireball launcher is fun. It rewards accuracy with a faster cooldown and ends up as a really fun DM weapon. Sacrifices the crowd control capabilities of the flamethrowers though, you won't be stealth burning crowds of people with it. Plus if you miss, you may as well be dead, because it takes two to three hits to kill anyone, more than enough time for a heavy/soldier/scout/flamethrower to unload on you. And it's missing the +20hp on extinguishes, making it less useful with teammates. Like, getting blasted at point blank sucks when fighting it, but it's pyro. He's supposed to be close range. So after the pyro spam dies down, I think it'll be a balanced 1v1 tool which rewards aim, but is worse against crowds. Because it doesn't feel any more lethal than getting two shotted by a rocket launcher, it's just that pyro is actually killing people now. As for the Jetpack, the fast equip time and long unequip seems to be valve trying really hard to prevent Flyro/Pyroknight. It's an excellent positioning tool that lets you cross gaps and gain positions formerly exclusive to Soldiers/Demos/Scouts, without having to spend health to get there. The Tackle damage and extinguishing teammates really feel like things they just tacked on because they're wildly impractical. Maybe they're vestiges from an earlier version. I know people were really stoked to have Jetpacking flamethrowers, but it sounds like a nightmare to balance/fight especially when you'd have shit like surprise Jetpack charging Backburners/Phlogs into crowds of people. So I'm perfectly okay with the mobility niche it fills, because giving the Pyro what is effectively a Chargin-Targe jetpack sounds like a horrible idea for everyone who isn't pyro. Gas Can is really meh? It takes forever to charge, doesn't charge on respawn or on cabinet, and can easily be extinguished. Probably they did that to prevent people from just permanently gasclouding an area, but right now it's just not very good. Like, why am I going to use the Gascan once every Sixty seconds (Which is longer than it takes to charge Uber!) to Gas an area for a couple seconds? Maybe I hit four or five people if I'm lucky, now for the next ten seconds they're mildly inconvenienced by the potential to be hit by regular afterburn. Which can easily be extinguished. If it's going to take sixty seconds to charge and replace the shotgun/flaregun/jetpack it needs to do something a little better than that. But just making it charge faster is probably a bad idea because then you'd just have permanently gassed areas on payload/defense maps.
  16. I had to sit on a jury once, it sucks. After sitting around for two hours for court to start, and then listening to two hours of testimony. Then they lock you in a room until you and everyone else unanimously decide on a verdict. Basically Phoenix Wright is not an accurate representation of court.

I think this is the first time that the broken model for the Scottish Handshake bottle has actually worked since release. Best bottle finally fixed.

Fireball (?) launcher looks cool. Pyro Jarate might leave a minor AoE cloud? Second banana looks like the OG Sandvich's stats. Very excited that these are "Achievement" (free contact) weapons. Don't have to worry about crafting them, unless numbered weapons are still a thing.

I'll also vouch for KOTOR but it's more of an hour thing instead of a ten minute thing. Same with like, Mobile XCOM Enemy within. I got "You must build a boat" from humble on my phone and it's a fun little match/rpg/crusher thing. Also the Hitman/Deus Ex/Laura Croft Go games are good mobile puzzle games. Sometimes you can find em on sale.

So I beat A Hat in Time (sorta, didn't 100% it), it's super good. It's another platformer inspired by the classics, the closest comparison is Mario Sunshine I'd say. But it's not just a paste job of those games, it's got all it's own ideas too, Especially after the first world. Plus it's full of cute. Movement feels good right away and there's lots to explore. The cast of characters are enjoyable and the voice acting is over-the-top in a fun way (But you can turn it off too). Boss fights are all pretty neat, but there's also a bunch of pure platforming bonus levels (ala Sunshine). Basically, if you enjoy 3D Plaforming games in the vein of 64/Sunshine/BK you'll probably get a kick out of A Hat in Time. Plus, on top of all that, it has workshop support and mod tools for custom levels. And Two more worlds are coming for free post-launch. It's one of the best things I've played in a while, the kind of thing that captured me instantly and kept me going for more fun characters and plaformy goodness. Your mileage may vary, but this was the exact kind of game I never knew I wanted. /MildGushing
