I finished Taimadou 35 and it was entertaining.
...Okay the first four episodes of harem nonsense might have turned anyone off of it, but I managed to stick it through. Episode 9 was another episode of harem nonsense but it was a good break from the seriousness of the middle arc.
All in all, at first I thought it was shit, then after the first arc it became pretty decent. Characters all got their own arcs and actually progressed unlike most harem magic school LN adaptions, none of the characters were unlikable (at first I thought not-Kirino would ruin the show but she turned around) and the setting was pretty cool.
Though it had a lot of dropped plot arcs. Like the Dark Elf thing (spawning the Frodo of "why didn't she use the NANOMACHINES Delf powers when they were about to be overrun by enemies in the last arc?") and the magic terrorist group having a bunch of characters that the show seems to think we know but we really don't.
The show ended on a "pls buy BDs so we can have season 2" kinda note, though, so maybe we'll get more eventually. And I wouldn't be adverse to that, really, as long as they keep the interesting setting and characters going.
The CG looked silly at times but that's just what action CG is right now. Maybe one day we'll see good CG outside of Etotama.
