For the most part, you pretty much only rolled as a standard troop (the cannon fodder or whatnot), Engineer, or Heavy if you really needed a tank to be destroyed. However, if I recall correctly, the Heavies for the droids sucked in comparison to the others and Imperial troops had literally the best everything with the exception of Sharpshooter because the class was terrible all around. I never saw one person use it as effectively as they could have with any other class.

My biggest complaint with CoD space levels is the fact that guns don't propel you back.

No, that's called you have shit aim and don't know how to press alt to shoot accurately. It's a western shooter, so you aren't going to have weapons that are accurate to begin with. Running around isn't going to help either.

There really aren't many tactical shooters now that aren't complete shit. Your best bet would probably to go with something older like Ghost Recon, but ARMA or Project Reality might go right up your alley.
