Might as well replace the "up" & "down" votes with "funny" & "useless". But still, good idea.

    Star Wars Thread

Just watched the entire TCW cartoon on YT. Is it me, or does everyone take a level in badass in everything BUT the movies? I mean I see a lot of stuff the Jedi do that they don't do in the movies, or at least just glimpses such as Yoda's fighting style. For one, the Force itself seems a lot more powerful. I've seen Mace Windu and Yoda just take down an entire army with just one push. Mace literally just punches droids to death. General Grievous is apparently a master acrobat and the fact he stood up to 5 Jedi at once was amazing: The Jedi were actually afraid of him. In Episode III he just seems cowardly, however, I think that's because Mace crushes his chest so he's not in as good as a fighting condition as he is both Clone Wars series. The clones themselves become badass: I've seen a lot of awesome last stands from them, with some even coming out alive. Though I guess it's easier to animate all the stuff they can do rather than rely on actors to do the best they can while being restricted to reality. I've also been playing SWBF2 lately. I've played the Xbox version and loved it. However when I play the PC version, I've noticed quite some differences between the two. + Video Quality settings Though this can be explained because since Xbox specs are all standardized, there's no need to have options to adapt to different graphics cards and such, unlike PCs, where there just so many different variables. +More AI support 64 players on one map would be unheard of on the Xbox version. +New gamemode: XL XL adds an element of super large scale battle Star Wars is known for doing, so that's awesome. + Mod support Apparently at some point in time there was an official version 1.1 patch that allowed mod support and tools. This can make the potential amount of new content endless, limited only to your hard drive. - Lack of DLC The PC version lacks official DLC support from the Xbox version, such as Hero Assault on Kashyyk, and Kit Fisto and Assaj Ventress as new heroes to play as. However, the aforementioned mod support can make unofficial new content endless to make up for it. - XL gamemode only works on three maps It's sad to say this new gamemode that brings large scale battles to reality is restricted to only three maps, two of which are unbalanced to one side over the other naturally. Hoth is the only map that seems that the two sides seem to be equally matched with only one gaining an advantage with the player's assistance. Though mod support means you can get more XL maps. - Less cheat codes The PC seems to only contain the "significant" cheats: Unlimited ammo, invincibility, no HUD, and campaign mission list. While the Xbox version had extra stuff, like comic-like popups such as "POW!" when playing as a melee class and low-res characters. On top of that, the method of activating cheats is different. You have to go to the Instant Action menu and put your cursor over a certain spot and type them in. However, this also means you can't activate/deactivate mid-game, unlike Xbox, where any menu is enough and you just use the D-Pad. - UI seems pretty bland In the Xbox version the menu seems to be more....animated than the PC version. For example, in the campaign and main menus, scenes from the movies would play. And the class selection screen had a "wheel" of all of the classes available similar to that of DK64. In the PC, that doesn't happen and all of the menus just seem plain-ish, boring, and stereotypically "PC"-like of the time. A minor complaint, but still. So, since modding seems to be main selling point of the PC version, what are some "must-have" mods out there I can get in order to keep myself occupied?

  13. My English professor showed us that earlier today and used the magazine comic that triggered the attack as a perfect opportunity to talk about the power of words and writing combined with illustration can have on people. Twas interesting. More on topic, more terrorism from lunatics warping normally peaceful religious views, nothing new here. What impresses me actually though is that they were able to pull this off. In the middle of the day. In 5 minutes. And got away with it.

Yay, they fixed the no damage falloff stickies and the Quickiebomb launcher not destroying enemy stickies. Now if they only pull back on the Tide Turner nerf a bit and balance the Mannpowers better (buffing Vampire, really!?), then I'll be good.

I have a feeling it will be the last one though. I mean according to certain theories, and even canon, there's 4 possible locations for it to take place, there's where supposedly the first murder took place and where the Marionette came from, then there's the FN@F2 place, then after that came the FN@F1 location, then according to some theories, there's either a location after FN@F1 or somewhere in between FN@F2 and FNAF1, but I'm 80% sure it'll be

The 3DS version is good if you have a Sm4sh itch to scratch but you're not near a Wii U currently. You couldn't that with previous Smashes. Also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=And-vdjC71E

Phew, finally done with the sale. While last year I only spent $20 on three games: Poker Night 2, Outlast, and Slender: The Arrival. I saved most of my Christmas money for TF2 crap. This year however is a different story. I went all out this year. I bought myself a $50 Steam Wallet code, while also receiving $40 in Codes as presents for Xmas. I managed to spend a total of $43.13 in the store according to the badge progress thingy, along with around the same amount in Community Market + Mann Co. purchases. This all brought up my library to more than 50 games, so yay more XP from ranking up a badge. The total crap I've gotten since the sale began are: Store only (not including gifts): Spoiler - The Oddboxx: An Oddworld bundle that includes Abe's Oddysee, Abe's Exxodus, Munche's Oddysee, and Stranger's Wrath HD 50% for $5 Reason: I loved Stranger's Wrath on the Xbox and was saddened that it wasn't compatible for the 360, so I decided to have some nostalgia. The other Oddworld games would be a bonus. - Star Wars: Republic Commando $10 Reason: Always thought this seemed like a neglected gem amongst Star Wars games, and it seems like a blast to play despite being old, so I decided to get it. - Sam & Max Complete Pack: A bundle that includes Sam & Max Season 1-2 and The Devil's Playhouse 75% off for $10 Reason: After playing both Poker Night at the Inventory 1 and 2 and getting the TF2 promos, I realized that the Sam & Max series looks like a good laugh out of. And even though it's not exactly a genre I'm familiar with (point & click adventure), I'd say it's worth a crack at. - Star Wars Battlefront II 33% off for $6.69 Reason: NOSTALGIA. I LOVED this game on Xbox, so why not get it for PC as well. Sadly I won't be able to experience multiplayer on it, but no matter, I never played this game online on the Xbox anyway, so this doesn't affect me. - Toy Soldiers 80% off for $2 Reason: I quite enjoyed this nice little game on the Xbox Live Arcade. It's one of the best in the Arcade IMO. The history buff in me caused me to buy it because you just don't see many good WW1 games that aren't about flying. - Halo: Spartan Assault 60% off for $2 Reason: Seems like a neat little game to play. I remember seeing this being announced for both Xbox and PC, but didn't think much of it since it wasn't a traditional FPS Halo game. But after moving to PC and realizing I may never be able to play another Halo game since they are normally Xbox exclusives and because it's the only Halo game on Steam, I decided to get it to have one last little oo-rah with Halo as well as a reminder of the past I've left behind. And if this is all what Steam is going to get with Halo, then I'll take it. - HL1 Anthology Pack: a bundle that includes Half Life, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, and (for some reason) Team Fortress Classic 50% off for $7.49 Reason: Do I really need to explain? It's fucking HALF-LIFE! With-out it, Valve (and subsequently TF2 and this forum)wouldn't be here. It's a game I think every Steam user must have in their libraries. Mann Co. + CM transactions: Spoiler - 6 Festives from the previous years Reason: Preperation for Sissmas 2014 as well as the "Festive" SPUF Event. - 7 Naughty Keys Reason: To unbox this year's Festives (duh) - 16 TF2 Trading Cards Reason: To max out my TF2 badge. - 2 TOD tickets Reason: So I have enough tickets to do a full MvM tour since I don't want to waste my free one. - 11 regular Mann Co. Keys Reason: The Invis Watch and the Construction PDA are the only stock Stranges left that I want, but both of them are several keys. So I waited till Xmas to spend the money to get enogh keys to buy them both. I paid 3 keys to get the Invis Watch and am planning to spend the remaining 8 to get the PDA once they become tradable. I think it's safe to say these will keep me occupied until the next winter sale, or even the next one....
