I discovered this game yesterday and it is really cool. Everything has tank controls which takes some getting used to (often found myself uselessly spinning in one place while trying to dodge) but the artstyle is nice and smooth, the gameplay is fun and fast and nothing seems truly overpowered. The best part is that the payment model is probably the fairest I've ever seen: you can unlock everything for free which goes relatively fast (2-3 matches to buy a new weapon, and no scaling), for 10 bucks you get the basic set which gives unlimited storage space (which you otherwise have to level for which does scale), and for 20 bucks you get premium meaning all the items in the game immediately unlocked, simple as that (also if you buy basic upgrading to premium will only cost 10 bucks). It's really fun, definitely try it out

Snipers can indeed be frustrating but I feel that it's a necessity, because once you build a sub-75 health minitank you can circlestrafe slower and fatter tanks so fast they can't even keep up with you (which is basically all I've been doing) Something that I don't really get yet because I haven't bought it yet is the difference between the two weapons hull and the two turrets hull. Your weapon is attached to your turret so which hull does what exactly?

If you want to get into comp tf2, you could maybe talk to me on steam. I've played in clans for several years and nowadays still do some lobbies occasionally. Honestly, I still think 6s TF2 with a team I had grown close to has been the most fun I have ever had in any game ever, and this was with a team of which I originally knew noone and who ended up being my steam friends for over a year after the team disbanded. I definitely wouldn't mind playing some lobbies with you either You could also maybe try Quake or Unreal Tournament. Quake Live got a lot of crap for getting casualized quite a bit but I actually think it is for the best, so there isn't as huge of a skill wall to break down before you can actually get a kill or two. For the other Quake games and UT games you should first check whether the community is still active enough to make it worthwhile. Something entirely different you could maybe try is get into a card game; Cockatrice lets you play magic the gathering online for free, and I've heard Hearthstone is very accessible and fun
