    Muslim Shenanigans

And that sort of shows that Islam isn't the reason for high levels of religious violence, but events happening in the Middle East, North Africa, Persian areas. What I would write would basically come down to:The middle east was screwed over by the West, by the East, by the Jews, and any sort of pan-Arab identity failed them, so they sought refuge in an Islamic identity. They use this identity to create a demonised 'other' that fits nicely for the United States, Israel and the West in general, whilst also providing a handy source of propaganda in order to mobilise support for their agenda. In South America, they were screwed over by Neo-Liberalism predominately. They have large European roots, and some countries (Argentina for example) consider themselves European culturally. They are very Catholic, and only now are other religious groups, such as Pentecostals making any progress in the area. The major source of their violence is between the left and the right. They can't demonise their enemies as 'Catholics', because they themselves are Catholic. The Catholic church was actually split on the whole right-left economical/political section. Most violence is about whether if you are on the left or right of the political scale in terms of economics.Middle East can't say they're Communist verse Capitalists (because they aren't communist). They can't say they're Arabs vs the West because that already failed horrendously. But they easily can be Islam vs. The Judo-Christian West. South American violence can't be Christians vs. [Religion] because there isn't another religion. So, pretty much, it's not just religion, or quality/standard of life as you said, but the entire histo-political context of the region. If for some reason there was a large population of left-wing Muslims in Latin America, and a large proportion of Right-Wing Christians, there would be a lot more religious conflict in South America.EDIT: ♥♥♥♥, that summary was longer than I intended. Imma gonna cut it down a little.A MUCH LATER EDIT:So I just saw this on my news feed. Now, I thought the Muslim protestors in the Middle East/North Africa would have largely been whipped up into a frenzy by extremisists, and rioted due to their already militant culture and a vast array of other circumstances. But people in Australia? Come on, this is a tiny little shitty "film". It's not even that. It's a video posted on YouTube, with no major backing, no major funding, or any sort of production value. It's not the official view expressed by a government or a major government. It's nothing. Are there protests like this happening in the USA?
