Here's something unexpected... Destiny 2 got a free trial version released today. Despite being a long time Destiny fan, I still would not recommend purchasing Destiny 2. Play Warframe instead for a more salt-free experience. Current state of the game is bad if not worse than Ubisoft's The Division at launch (at least there are no hackers roaming around). The distinctive lack of stuff to do, loot to chase after and transparent communication have been the reason why the Destiny community is covered in salt lately. Not only that, but also there has been a whole PR sh*tstorm regarding the XP gain on which you earn the cosmetic loot boxes (Jim Sterling also stepped in). The game's first expansion is also set to release next week. Unfortunately the provided content has appeared to be major disappointment so far. Oh well... given what is available on the trial version, I'd say 50% of the game is basically free now. At least new players will be able to find out the meaning behind #twotokensandablue without having to spend money. I still regret not being able to finish writing my article on spuf.org regarding Destiny 2 due to time and personal reasons. I should probably get it nicely finished by the end of December.
