I'm also hearing stuff about needing to update your motherboards, which is something I've never done and it doesn't look like my motherboard has an update in 2018. Pretty sure I read almost this exact post on facepunch a couple weeks ago. Disregarding that, it's also got the bonus that every single pyro has switched back to the regular flamethrower. Their DPSes are pretty much the same but you can actually beat other pyros instead of both of you just dying at the same time like with the current flamers.

I keep getting this nagging feeling that wants me to go through Fortune Summoners: Secrets of the Elemental Stones again because when I went through it the first time I lost my save after I died to the final boss because my harddrive failed due to unrelated causes. I technically never beat the game, but do I really want to go through 30 hours again? ...Probably.

It really sucks that the current version of L4D2 crashes on many mac computers after about 15 minutes of gameplay because it really made playing L4D2 with my group possible due to one of our players being on mac. We used to do almost-daily runs of L4D2 and even reached a point where we were doing expert realism Parish runs (which has now become an inside joke of "guys let's do expert realism parish") that we actually managed to beat twice (the first time using a glitch to spawn a 5th survivor controlled by a bot). I really wish there was a tier-1 sniper because my favorite two weapons are the hunting rifle and the AK-47 (technically the Krieg Commando but it's in a limbo state as far as guns are concerned) but both of those weapons make shredding infected laughably easy on Advanced and feeling invincible every game can be boring.

I said a day after the update hit that "this is the same size (or smaller) than another regular major update except this one took two years to make". It definitely improved a lot of things but it really wasn't this amazing update that brought the game back, I think. Do all those streamers and such that played it on release still play the update? Pretty much me and three others on my friends list actually still play it...

I liked C.A.G.E.D. I'm not too sure why you're advocating for the SMG when it's actually pretty horrible compared to the pistol at long range. Maybe I'm just used to the HL1 NPCs but I only really had issues at the part with the jail cells, but that was solved with my SMG grenades.
