Fallout 2 is quite possibly one of the greatest Western RPGs made to this date. Created by the great Brian Fargo, the guy behind Baldur's Gate and Bard's Tale, Fallout 2 was the more expansive sequel to the already popular Fallout 1. It built up even further with the dark humor of the game along with crazy nonsensical events and items. While RPGs are usually more famous for their immersion and adventure rather than quirky dialogue, Fallout 2 brought the best of both worlds with memorable characters and the looming terror of the Enclave.
Bioshock expanded on the notion of a more narrative focused first person shooter that titles such as Half-Life and Deus Ex attempted to do. While the game has it's shooty pew pew bits with explosions and bullets flying, much of the experience is about exploring and learning what happened in Rapture, an underwater libertarian city without morality. It's story only gets better once you learn the truth behind the entire incident in Rapture, which completely changes your outlook on the place. Just be prepared to be disappointed with Bioshock 2.

Mount & Blade: Warband gives you the open world of Calradia, a land once ruled by the king, but now has split into multiple kingdoms. Now, the Swadians, Nords, Rhodoks, Vaegirs, Sarranid, and Khergits battle for the throne. While the game strives to be a "realistic simulation of medieval life", it brings and open world full of possibility. Rather than railroading you through a plot, you can choose your own destiny. While the game is mainly focused on creating an army to fight for a Kingdom or creating your own, you can also join tournaments, court someone, or become a merchant.
Quake 3 is literally the best arena shooter. Fuck Facing Worlds, Blood Run is better.
