Making a thread to talk about FFXIV if anyone else here plays it
Live letter for stormblood was being streamed and showed us a lot of new stuff for the other jobs and they look pretty great
MNK: I'll be honest I could not tell what the new things where for them except the one ability they showed in the benchmark, they have a indicator though to show your greased lightning stacks and what level your chakara is
SMN: Summons bahamut
DRG: More stuff to do with your Blood of the dragon ability and a indicator to see how long the buff is on for as well as something makes you go into a "hyper BotD mode" where abilities are enhanced and do more from the look of it and your aura is read instead of blue
WAR: Cleave for days
WHM: S T O N E IV and some other stuff like an ability that pulls party members towards you (like that priest ability from wow). I also think it pulls the person back into place so it is meant to be used as a thing to help pull players out ability templates
BLM: Triple cast fire IV baby
NIN: Frog summoning and something else which looks neat kind of like a trap you place on the ground or something you stand in to buff yourself
DRK: Edgy things and a ability that is sort of like the Paladins cover where it appears to be you apply a shadowskin to a party member
RDM: They balance white and black mana which seems really fun and have some cool combos like using a short channel spell to make a longer channelling spell instant cast (i think)
PLD: Holy crap so much to talk about with them best to just wait for the Mr.Happy video to explain cause I just cant type that stuff down, I will say though PLD can now block magic attacks which is a very nice change.
SAM: Samurai seems neat so far you charge a bar and gain buffs in the same form of jutsus that the ninja has (different names though)
BRD/MCH: Removal of minstrels ballad and guass barrel effects...kind off, you lose the whole making your abilities have a cast time but i think you still gain the bonus dmg and lose auto attacks which i am sure many are happy over and I will be interested in playing one of those jobs now
Those where the highlights for me about the new job stuff
Also the Indicators on the screen are neat. But the big thing is the fact that spells that are unused are being removed and some spells are fusing together which is really nice and just removes a lot of clutter
Another change that is nice to hear.
PvP can now be accessed at lower levers the only requirement to go into PvP is that you have a job
New action bars emerge when you enter a PvP area, replacing your PvE action bars until you leave. Removes less clutter which is always nice
Direction requirements for melee DPS have been removed, MNK mains are gonna have fun with that
Mount speed for ground mounts has been increased. we still cant fly in ARR areas but we can now run in the 90's (Beleive you unlock this by doing all the sidequests in the game or in that specific realms e.g. doing all the arr sidequests will increase your mount speed in areas)
Scenario shortcut items and job boost items are a thing and they will be on the Mogstation for $18.00/ £13.32 and 15,75 euros for the Tales of Adventure A Realm Reborn and $25.00/£18.50 and 21.75 euros for Tales of Adventure: Heavenward
scenario shortcut items which just skip the main scenario stuff which is something I know gates a lot of people from playing the game.
They are called Tales of Adventure: A Realm Reborn which clears all the MSQ from ARR and allows you do the HW MSQ if you want and you can get Tales of Adventure: heavensward
They will be available on the mog station at June 16th (the start of early access)
Features you get from these is
You get a chocobo and the name is randomly generated
Grand company enrolment (set to starting city)
Completion of MSQ and any dungeons that are required for the dungeon are classed as cleared (well duh)
Completing of select sidequest (possibly meaning all ARR sidequests are done when you buy the Tales of adventure:ARR)
The unending journey (All cutscenes are viewable in your room/innroom)
THESE WILL NOT RAISE YOUR JOB LEVELS
Job level boost items are also coming and will boost a certain job level to 60 not all of them
They will be listed as tales of adventure: "insert job name here"
prices are $25.00/ £18.50 and 21.75 euros per job
Available like the other Tales of Adventures on June 16th
there are no Tales of Adventures for Red Mage and Samurai
only one job specific tales of adventure is available per account (until patch 4.1)
Features from this
A full set of lvl 60 gear including weapon
All job quests complete
All actions learned (well duh again)
Hall of novice access granted (to teach you how to play your new job and not sabotage groups with your awful playing of your new job aka git gud school)
On there own they are cheaper than WoW's level boost at least but together I think they cost around the same sadly
Still though I am really hyped for stormblood and i can't wait for the early access
