End of year, may as well talk about my favorite games of 2017. Didn't play a whole lot of games that came out this year, so I'll keep the list short. Don't really feel like making the reasons I put them in the order I did for too long, so I'll keep those short too.
4) Shadow of War
My list of 2017 games is so short that I basically have to put this one in when I rather not. Flawed, basically an Assassin's Creed/Batman mix like the previous one so the gameplay isn't particularly stellar, but it ticked the LoTR lover inside me (when it wasn't bending the lore into a pretzel), and I really liked the concept of the Nemesis System, so I let it slide.
3) Nier Automata
Liked the story, characters, backstory, music, themes. Shame about the gameplay itself being pretty dull.
2) Super Mario Odyssey
Had a blast with this one. Loved collecting the moons, except for the ones where no effort is required to get them. Recommend fully if you have a switch.
1) Sonic Mania
The only game in this list which I was truly excited for, and it did not disappoint. Love it and I can replay it for basically forever. Good job Taxman, Stealth, and Pagoda West Games.
Fuck you SEGA for delaying it two weeks for PC less than a week before launch just to implement Denuvo.
Its not a fantastic list of games, but I don't have a lot to work with either, so take it or leave it.
