Okay, basics shouldn't come as a surprise to you. Things like moving and abilities and mana and gold and a fair amount of the items should make sense to you. Basic Dota mentality will just have to be taught to you, but that should be an easy process. It goes something like this: - Never die. Ever. Ever. Ever. Dying gives money and EXP to the enemy, and you can probably tell that's a bad thing. If you run away because you thought you had low health or thought they would insta-kill you before you could act, no one will blame you. - Kills are nice, but they're a strategic choice. If you go out of your way to kill someone, you might walk into a trap, or past a turret, or watse time while you could have been winning the game. - This game is hard. We're really not exaggerating at all. There are 90 heroes right now, 108 when the beta ends. Each and every one of them has at least 4 abilities. That's 400+ ways to ♥♥♥♥ you over. Perserverance is really the only way to learn this crap. - This game isn't for everyone. It really isn't. Some people just don't like the demand it puts on, or the gameplay doesn't suit them at all.
