I just had such a cool dream!

A friend and I were playing hide and seek in the neighborhood. I had to hide. There was this big, tall house at the end of the neighborhood, that'd never been there before. I sprinted down the street while she wasn't looking and knocked on the door. A 50-something looking lady greeted me and asked me who I might be. I told her my name was Paris, and she let me in with no question of my parents or who I was related to, as if I was already a known face.

The interior of the house was magnificent, it looked like something out of the Gilded Age. Mahogany floors, brass railings, a grand chandelier and staircase splitting in two directions in the center of this seemingly impossible lobby! There were many people there, and I quickly caught word of why that was the case. Everyone there was all family, holding a banquet in honor of one of the oldest family members, who was on her deathbed. I was still playing a game of hide and seek, so I looked around the house for a good spot.

The house had 7 floors, and several elevators (2 large ones and ~5 single-person ones), but I opted not to use the elevators; someone might ask who I was exactly. I explored several rooms of the labyrinth: an orchestra room, a chorus room, a dining hall, someone's bedroom (seemingly a kid, he had Breath of the Wild on PS4???), a bathroom, and eventually I reached the top floor, where the old lady was on her deathbed.

Quite an awkward situation I was put in, I decided to comfort her as she died. If anything, it would lower suspicion concerning my identity. Someone pulled me aside, and questioned whom I was related to. There were many people at this house, and I quickly pulled a name from my head, saying I was "Aunt Jill's cousin". The man could not deny nor confirm my assertion, and dismissed me.

I sensed tensions were getting high at this point- I've been wandering around this house rapidly and aimlessly with little mingling, and I had a feeling that man went off to express his concerns to others down below. I decided it was time for me to leave. I excused myself, saying I needed water, and hurriedly looked for an elevator. I found a single-person elevator in a bathroom, and quickly took it.

The elevator's front was glass, allowing me to see all the other floors of the house as I passed down them. As I descended, the singers in the chorus room were practicing, the orchestra members were playing, and everyone else was gathered at a giant rectangular table, feasting in the dining hall. Everyone at the table, dozens of people, instantly turned to look at me descending in the elevator; they knew I was a fraud now.

I finally reached the bottom floor, where the elevator let off on the other side of the lobby. The door was all the way opposite me, and I could hear footsteps coming down the stairs. I bolted for the front door, not wanting to get arrested today. I sprinted outside, but so did the man chasing me. I was faster however, and he gave up chase. Out of breath, I returned home down the street, and saw my friend as I did. I told her what had happened and she didn't even bother tagging me.

Well... That was... weird... I was basically some weird angel of life/death. (Didn't have a set of wings though, so lamer than it sounds.) I was stood in the middle of a swirling white mist with a vision of how someone would die at the centre. I couldn't make out what it was until I was close, but it was a brain that was bleeding from the inside. Suddenly, I'm whooshed away in a split second with the entire world blurring momentarily from the speed of it and when the world stops once more I'm stood in front of the person I'm supposed to save. Slightly intimidating however when it's someone you personally know. I was never told this, but I just knew via the power of dream logic that the only way to save them was to get them to admit they had a serious health problem and to stop denying their own wellbeing. (You'd think I'd have some slightly more godly powers than "good advice".) Aw well... That part of the dream stopped after that.

The dream then teleported to some cafe/bar place that some friends were at and some guy was grinding my gears by belittling them constantly so I ended up beating the crap out of the guy and then running because I was scared the police would arrest me if they arrived. Time then flashed from day to night as I ran from a busy city square down an alleyway and arrived at a beach with the city dissolving behind me. The guy I fought was somehow waiting for me despite being left black and blue at the bar. He magically pulled a pistol out of mallet space and so did I. We fired a couple of shots and he dropped dead. Seemingly whatever angelic/demonic thing I was from the first part of the dream ran over into the second one, because I realised I'd been shot in the chest but hadn't felt a thing. It was slightly amusing to realise I essentially had godmode enabled though. Looking down at your chest and seeing a fountain of blood pouring out without a hint of pain is quite a weird sensation. It made a nice change from my usual dreams where the pain is very real because my brain likes torturing me.

Then I woke up with a puzzled expression and just said "...Huh."

I actually dreamed I was a 40 year old-looking German doctor. My mercenary days were over and I had retired, living in a nice house, going to the beach regularly. I look pretty good despite actually being about 80 thanks to my awesome technology that I'm now vaguely famous for. I don't have kids or anything but I am friendly with my neighbours and their two kids. One day, I get a call from Spy. He's visiting someone or other and wants to visit me. I'm taking the kids down to the beach, and Spy decides he wants to visit me then.

Spy looks amazingly well, despite the fact that I know he's not been using my technology and all that. The weather is weird, oddly cloudy and windy, even though it's August. But the wind picks up and I think there's an earthquake and lightning too. Everyone on the rather packed beach runs into a bunch of shelters. The kids go with a younger friend of my neighbours, while I help someone who's got all tangled up in something. I find myself in an old storage room full of old arcade amusement thingies. Spy is there too.

Suddenly Spy stabs me and I find I can't move. He says he wants to take my body. Because somehow my body is nicer than his body. Keeping in mind that I'm an 80 year old who looks like a 40 year old. He sticks something in my neck and I start seeing his memories. Over the last 4 years, he has been using natural disasters as a cover for stealing people's bodies, transferring his mind into a new body then leaving his old body in the wreckage.

I fight back, as best I can. A door breaks down and Heavy comes rampaging in, and Spy somehow makes me attack him. Turns out Heavy is aware of the shit Spy has been up to. Heavy breaks my arms then knocks Spy out, pausing his mind transfer thingy.

Heavy then carries me to what looks like an old part of the map Koth_King, and Engineer and Demoman are there. Demo is more robot than human and he and Heavy beat the shit out of Spy while Engy fixes me up. Before long, I'm fine (apart from the broken arm), but Spy disappears, never to be seen again.

Damn it, now I'm thinking of (and missing) the german weapons that would occasionally show up. Whenever they showed up either in versus or campaign, I'd use them throughout the entire thing. Also, having CS:S weapons in L4D2 made me very happy. Especially since they had unique traits other weapons didn't. I think the weirdest thing is that they were showing up on the 360 version of L4D2... Never saw them on PC.

Edit: Seems it was people with modded 360s apparently. At least according to the comment sections on YouTube.

So I got a call from someone wanting to do a survey. I answer in English since I was just talking in English to someone else. The person on the phone asks if I speak Greek, as the survey is in Greek. I answer "όχι" which means no in Greek and tell them I'm not interested, again in Greek. They apologise for the inconvenience, say they are only looking for Greek speakers, and hang up.

Second dream started off in a coastal town. It was just a pleasant sunny day with a nice sea breeze and then my subconcious decided it would brighten the mood by having a maniac behind a sports car plough into the side of a bus, sending them both careening off the road and towards people on the pavement. Fortunately, the people got out of the way before they both ploughed half way through the wall of someone's house. Both instantly burst into flames, the bus passengers ran out of the bus, both drivers weren't so lucky. People began pouring out of the smashed buildings in a panic while I looked on in bewilderment at the hell around me and how fast it had appeared. There was a screech of tyres. I turned to look expecting police or ambulances but, naturally, it was U.S. soldiers... In the middle of the English countryside... They formed two columns and called for people to walk down the middle so they could be searched. One by one, people were escorted away from the danger. I was called, but as I stepped forwards the soldier on the verge of searching me flipped and raised his rifle so that I was looking down the barrel, yelling at me to back up. I did as I was told, hands raised, but that didn't stop someone kicking me in the back of the legs and forcing me flat against the road. Someone else joined the fray and pressed the side of my head into the road. As you can imagine, the panic of this attack made me attempt to break free which only served as an excuse for others to join in. Now I was completely restrained when someone grabbed my lower jaw and yanked it down almost to breaking point, they hooked their other hand under my front teeth and started pulling on the upper jaw.

Although being aware I could try to clamp down on whoever was dumb enough to place their fingers in my mouth, I was also aware enough to realise I didn't want my jaw being snapped seconds later, so I froze. Fortunately, he then moved his hands to my chin and forehead instead, maintaining the pressure. I caught the glint of something metallic to my right, I couldn't make it out though since my eyesight was being obscured thanks to the hand pressing my eyelids upwards too. Suddenly, the metal was smashed against my teeth and began brutishly scraping. I then realised my teeth were being filed. I writhed as I attempted escape and then in agony as my teeth (and generally the inside of my mouth) were slowly destroyed. I kicked and screamed, spat blood onto the asphalt. But the onlookers didn't make a move or sound, just kept staring. The only people who kept yelling were the ones who kept my arms twisted behind my back and kept kneeing me in the ribs. A few moments later I was magically back home. In the mirror I could see the extent of the assault. My canine teeth were reduced to bloody stubs and everything else had been filed down to a bloody, uneven line. My mouth was so butchered and my tongue so swollen I was only capable of barely audible gurgles and growls. Fortunately, with the power of dream logic, the random person in my house who I've never met* was perfectly able to understand what I was saying. I can't remember what I said though. So yeah... Basically, I was tortured by being defanged. First thing I did when I bolted awake out of that dream sat upright in bed was roll my tongue around my teeth and sigh in relief. Hopefully my next dream isn't straight out of a body horror film.

(*I've heard the theory where anyone you see in your dreams is actually someone you've seen in reality, as the brain isn't capable of creating faces. I'm doubtful of that... If the brain can create something as vivid as I just described, why would it struggle with making up a face?)

You seem to have a knack for catching dream wildlife... I had two bizarre dreams (or nightmares now that I think about it) recently.

The first took place in a classroom, it was normal enough until I heard a rumble. I looked up to see the roof was collapsing, I tried to run but I was crushed and blacked out. I woke up later with the sky blinding me, I tried moving but I was paralysed. The only movement I had was the ability to turn my head an inch or two to the right. It was then I looked down at myself and realised I was strapped to some weird metal frame, like a stretcher that copied the patient's body posture. I glimpsed the teacher approaching from the corner of what remained of the room. I asked her if everyone was okay, she explained a few people had been killed before meddling with a tablet-sized monitor attatched to the frame above my left shoulder that I'd somehow failed to notice.

I could see my vitals displayed on it, she tapped the screen showing another page of information on how my body was coping and the dosages of medicine that were keeping me alive. She went through a couple more screens before adjusting one of the many things being administered to me from yellow to green, so I guess I was low on whatever it was. Amusingly, I saw the abbreviation ATP adjacent to the one being adjusted and recognised it from high school biology lessons. Next thing I knew I was getting VERY tired, so I guess it was a sedative because I blacked out again shortly after and that was it. Why this teacher had knowledge on how to operate this state-of-the-art life support system is beyond me, but hey, dreams.

I'm intentionally avoiding the articles for now as I haven't beaten it but will check them out after I was playing it on PS2 back in the day but my brother sold his copy unaware I'd been playing it... Then I bought another when I got a job around 2014 and started hammering it... Then I mysteriously lost THAT copy. It's a very specific curse, it seems. Can't wait for the HD remaster to drop on PC and PS4... I actually bought the original HD release on PS3 on my sister's account but never ended up playing it because I DESPISE the DualShock 3 controller. Yes, that's a petty reason, but I really hate the controller that much. Getting the PS4 *PHYSICAL* version (YAAAAAY!) for christmas from my sister :D She found the rerelease news before I did and demanded to get it for me as a christmas present XD So yeah...

Now I'll finally, FINALLY be able to finish Ōkami! And this time I won't be late for the sake...  Yes, that has haunted me for years. After turning the house upside-down searching for hours for my old PS2 copy, I bought another to replace it, but I figured with the news of the HD versions being released I may as well go in fresh with one of those! Still glad I have an original copy again though
