  1. Waiting 20 minutes so that your virtual Windows 95 machine can install a game at an era realistic time, when all that is really happening is that files already on my hard drive are moving to somewhere else on it, is something that causes me to question what I'm doing with my life.

Waiting half an hour and manually changing discs four times to install KOTOR while poring over the box and manual.

Downloading it in 5 minutes on gog/steam doesn't feel quite the same.

Reading the manual for a game several times before playing it because you didn't have enough time to install it (or worse, you needed to wait for an upgrade to be able to play it) is a magical experience that can't really be replicated in the modern world.

Manuals were so cool. I only was around for the tail end of them but even the Halo 1 manual had all this cool lore and weapon and enemy descriptions that I would come back to and read and reread.

Now you just get a single printed page with a QR code telling you to install Origin or something
