  1. Is a dragon a reptile, or is it really a bird?

Now hear me out: I'm not just saying that because they fly.  A dragon is basically a dinosaur, and dinosaurs are supposedly more closely related to birds, right?  So wouldn't that make a dragon a bird, technically?

The etymology for dragon comes from the Greek word drakōn, which means serpent. Therefore a dragon is a type of large snake, which makes it a reptile.

How did a species of snakes grow limbs and wings and start breathing fire, you ask? Magic, duh.

I wouldn't say a dragon is like a dinosaur. I'd say it's more like a pterodactyl, which are reptiles.
