Get a whole bunch of moist clay, form it into armor around yourself, then go sunbathing.

Clay would be bad.
Wouldn't stand up to impacts.
Plus, you'd need a lot more heat than sunbathing would provide to harden it.
Maybe if it was a really hot day, in a savanna, or something.
