      Well, let me rephrase that. They're both fine instruments, the Jazzbass/Stingray and Stratocaster/Les Paul, and most of the time it just comes down to personal preference. Jazzbass has more flexibility as far as tone goes, but Stingray is more defined and characterized if you like how it sounds. Same really goes for Stratocaster and Les Paul. But honestly, it just comes down to your skill.
