This was almost the last post on SubSPUF.

Watched a few episodes of it. The Blacklist is a good show, but for whatever reason I can't find it and my DVR won't record it, and I haven't felt like actually trying to go find it.

A denial of service attack involves flooding a target with so much network traffic that it can't function. The process is akin to constantly calling someone's phone to prevent anyone else from calling it. It's hard to do so with just one attacking computer, though, so attackers generally use exploits to gain control of a large number of systems. They then have all of them flood the target at the same time.
 
There's no real way to defend against a DDoS- you can't filter out the malicious connections, as doing so means they're still wasting your bandwidth.

Started off in a metropolitan city. The dream focused on a group of newbie superheroes who were just getting into the biz and were unsure of what to do.
 
Next part involved me and my family driving along the Washington-Oregon border and stopping at a family restaurant, nothing too interesting here.
 
Next bit was some kind of reality show where the villains of popular media competed for the spot of most evil. There were a bunch of killer robots and the like, but they introduced the community vote pick who was miley cyrus as hannah montana. I think this dream segued into a short thing about Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, but given that I know next to nothing about Jojo aside from what I've seen from 3Fort's tumblr, idk if it was in any way legit.
 
Last part I can remember atm had me staying with a southern family. Nothing was happening so I played fetch with their dog while playing with one of their guns. Eventually I decided to go to the beach so I could shoot the gun.
