    Shotguns have very interesting mechanics:
    Each pellet does full damage; damage doesn't stack Pellets deal full damage up until a certain range, then linearly fall off to zero damage at another range Pellets can still damage glass past the maximum range but can't hit enemies Each pellet (maybe) causes individual knockback, causing enemies to be thrown into the air when hit with a solid bodyshot

    So, a family takes in a relative who they know sells meth, and allow him to deal inside their house.
     
    The baby was kept out of sight during the deal where the informant got the meth (so he didn't know there was a kid in there).

    IMO the first bit is only tangentially relevant, and the second two are quite reasonable. Releasing the officer's identity, given the public's current state of rioting and lawlessness, would probably doom him and his whole family to death.
     
    The tear gas and riot gear is 100% justified. When "protesters" are breaking into random stores, stealing shit, and BURNING THEM DOWN in the name of "justice", it's time for harsher measures.
     
    The last is pretty effed though.
