Trump really is uniquely unqualified to be president. We've had bad presidents before but Trump is legitimately fucking terrifying. He's a loose cannon who more or less believes in using overwhelming force to crush his enemies (this is well-established in his shady business practices and his tendency to come after people with his team of crack lawyers), but this time, his enemies are the American people at large. We know this to be the case because the American people at large did not elect him, and he's been open about curtailing free speech and civil liberties for just about anyone he deems to be an enemy of the state (or, more accurately, a critic of his regime). The president really does have a fuckton of power, equal to at least 1/3 of Congress, which -- by the way -- is controlled by the people nearest to being his ideological allies. Let's not forget that the biggest threats to humanity today could potentially wipe us out within the century, none of them are ISIS or even tangentially related to Islam, and they've all been completely ignored or outright denied by Trump. He's going to choose at least one supreme court justice, the heads of several federal agencies, he's going to have authority over both the military and our nuclear arsenal and you can rest assured that he's not going to get any more intelligent within the next month. We already have extrajudicial killings going on daily both at home and abroad, despite crime rates being at an all time low and there not being a single credible threat to our national security, but Trump has advocated for the expansion of the military both overseas and within our borders. Unless by some turn of events he hits a very late puberty and grows the fuck up, we are more or less guaranteed to have the worst four years since the civil war but, owing to the increasing consolidation of power occurring both under the status quo and under the new authoritarian regime, these four years might very well be our last.
 
But hey, anyone who didn't vote for him is just a PC policeman hurt feelings liberal who wants to fill our country with Mexicans and institute Sharia law, am I right?

I'm scared because the threat of leaving NATO means my home and stable life in Germany is forfeit. 
 
I have one one base of operations left in America and it's in Alaska where my aunt lives and like hell I can be around that part of the family constantly when my abuser is one of them.
 
 
On a national level I'm worried about a failed business mogul and reality TV star being handed the reigns to the only superpower on Earth when he hasn't even been involved in governing on any level. Not to mention the blatant, conscious racism, sexism, other -isms he spews on a constant basis.

Hillary would have largely been a continuation of the status quo, some stuff might have changed, I don't think it'd be anything drastic.

Trump would pretty much upend many systems we have set here in the US, and then can very easily dick over international diplomatic relations.

And yet I live in the portion of the US where anti-LGBT+ sentiment is the highest.
That 55% nation-wide acceptance of same-sex marriage means jack shit, especially since I live in an area where there are about 3 different churches within 1 mile of my house, and expanding the radius to even 5 miles, the number increases to 7 churches.

No argument here. The DNC dropped the ball on this shit hard. That doesn't make Trump a better candidate though. If anything it diminishes his achievement to know how badly the DNC mismanaged this election. Woo hoo.

Not really. The republican party and the conservative media have been pandering to the far right for years now. Trump is just an opportunist who realized as long as he took it just a step or two further than the other candidates were willing to he'd be able to swoop and and grab those sweet sweet votes.
 
Of course liberal media will go after Trump, but let's not pretend like Fox doesn't do the same bullshit to Obama. They will put him on blast for even the most petty detail as long as they think their demographic will eat it up. That's how the media works on both sides. And hey, if they do give Trump a harder time than they did Obama, it's probably because Obama keeps his behavior in check and hasn't been recorded talking about grabbing women by the pussy. Trump is his own worst enemy with that kind of controversy and all the media wants is views. Of course they're going to report on that kind of shit.
 
He's probably going to threaten LGBT rights considerably. Hell, Mike Pence supports fucking gay conversion therapy. He's also going to try and "cancel" the paris climate agreement which could have huge long terms ramifications worldwide. Don't bother getting into a sub-argument with me here about climate change. It is real, the science supports it and the only reason your party denies (read: blatantly lies to you about it) it is because the oil industry is stuffing money up their asses while they give them a petroleum lubed R.A. He's also expressed a disinterest in protecting our fellow NATO allies which could also have huge long terms ramifications worldwide. So as with any potential president, there are lots and lots of ways he could fuck a lot of things up for a lot of people. Are we really still getting fixated on the dumb-ass wall as a major policy issue?
 
In a few sentences I think you basically just said "Don't worry about President Trump fucking all the shit up by himself" followed by "however I'm very concerned about how President Obama has been fucking all the shit up by himself". What makes you think Trump won't abuse his power? If anything he'll have a fuckton more of it.
 
Let's not forget that whenever the republicans had a majority in congress they pretty much refused to compromise with Obama and have openly admitted to blocking him for any and all reasons which is in part why he's resorted to taking executive action. Prime example: it is basically fucking impossible to pass any kind of reasonable gun control laws past the republicans because the NRA is stuffing money up their asses while the oil industry takes a smoke break. I'm sure what the Republicans don't want to tell you is that they are fucking thrilled he resorted to this. They've been trolling him for as long as they can get away with it and when he finally resorts to throwing his weight around, they get to paint him as the villain. Once Trump takes office he will have the support of the senate and will be making at least one supreme court appointment. So no, I don't just worry about "one election". I worry about the conservatives rolling back what little progress we've been able to make and fucking up a lot of lives in the process.

Speaking of birthdays, I had to visit my grandmother this weekend to celebrate her 86th birthday. I got out of basic last Monday, so I was pretty stoked to finally meet my family again, haven't really seen much of them these past four months.
 
Of course everything went terribly fucking wrong.
 
So first of all, my grandmother wanted me to show up in my uniform because she wanted to see her "handsome grandson" in it... Thanks grandma. I had to endure a two-hour train ride in full dress in the sweltering heat, so that wasn't much fun. Then we got to her home Friday evening and things were OK, the celebration wasn't until Saturday anyway. Come Saturday, my entire family pretty much showed up, barring the relatives I have living in South America and guess who got delegated to taking care of the children during the party.

Because I'm the youngest "adult" and the oldest of the "kids" in the family, I have historically always been asked to look after the younger children, most of whom are now teenagers, during family gatherings. But I still have three small cousins between ages 5-7. So I spent most of the day with those kids crawling all over me, drooling on my uniform, being asked stupid fucking questions and not having any cigarettes. I coped with this by ingesting a rather large amount of beer and I must admit that I was pretty drunk by the end of the evening. In my drunken stupor, I may have promised to take my cousins to McDonalds today Sunday. Unfortunately this means I have to stick around until noon at the very earliest, because their parents (rightfully) don't want their children going to McDonalds for breakfast, so the earliest I can take them is for lunch.
 
I'm hungover, my clothes are a mess, I haven't had a cigarette in 48-hours and I just want to go home... But here I am waiting to take my cousins to McDonalds...
