[Notes: In the image above, I have left out the opposite side of Ring #2; this is for display purposes only. However, I did make a mistake in positioning the boosters (at the time of illustration I was confused regarding the nature of the rings being halves of a torus, or merely tori) along the Rings. Forgive me for that, and read the explanation in the section on Ring #2.]
The S.R.C. Avus Dictatorem is comprised of 3 separate components; the Base (the "ship" component, which houses the central exhaust port; the Tokamak fusion power source and fuel systems; the oxygenation and waste recycling facilities; the AI rooms; navigational viewports; storage area; and ship docking port); Ring #1 (first part of the ship's micro-gravity generator, which also contains the living quarters of the ship); and Ring #2 (contains the weapon systems, and functions as the second part of the micro-gravity generator).
Base + Ring #1

[Notes on the Layout of the Base: Rooms marked with vertical /s are based in the central axis of the zero-g system, and hence, have inertial force applied within them. The central section is laid out from a bird's-eye view, NOT a top-down one. Lastly, the symbols diagonally pointing to the Storage area and the piloting center are staircases.]
The Base of the S.R.C. Avus Dictatorem is what could functionally be called the "ship"; within its cradle lay the fundamental components to making the entire system function as smoothly as it does. It is cylindrically shaped (aside from its "beak" on the front), measures 6.0km in diameter, and is 12km long. Attached by struts are both Rings (these struts are detachable by mechanism, allowing the Avus Dictatorem an advantage over enemies trying to board the Rings via elevator).
The layout for the Base (as seen in the above image) houses several critical structures; the six plasma containment spheres (used for fusion power) and the Tokomak fusion power source; the navigational AI (Columba) control rooms/mainframe; the oxygenation/medical and waste/water recycling facilities; the ship's storage compartment; the ship control room; and the docking port (situated within the "beak").
Typically, this would make it an easy target for the relatively large Brig; however, the hull of the ship is made of three layers (external layer consists of 0.1km thick Titanium-Zirconium-Molybdenum; middle layer is 0.3m thick rhenium-tungsten; internal layer is 0.1km thick niobium-titanium) that ensure resistance to thermal weaponry and from shot piercing fire. In addition, a tube connecting a flamethrower-like gun element to the main exhaust nozzle allows for the use of an "exhaust cannon" in dire situations.
Ring #1 simply acts as the living quarters for the crew (layout seen in the bottom-right of the image above); like Ring #2, it is accessible by space elevators within the struts attaching the Rings to the Base. It relays the same layout of maneuvering boosters as Ring #2 (see entry).
Centripetal Zero-G System
The ship's artificial-gravity system is heavily based off centripetal gravity systems (it particularly resembles an externalized version of an O'Neill cynlinder's gravitational system); by rotating the two strutted rings of the ship (shaped like tori) around the Base in opposite directions, pressure is created by a center-seeking (centripetal) force upon the Base; as this force is being applied, the areas unaffected are the ones situated directly within the line of orbit; these rooms include the Tokomak fusion station (which allows for safe storage of fuel, as the inert gas cannot expand) and both AI rooms.
Ring #2
Spoiler
Ring #2 is the component of the ship that holds the most bearing in the S.R.C. Avus Dictatorem's history; serving as a house to its weapons systems and its maneuvering boosters.
The weapon systems attached to Ring #2 are designed for automated and quick shots towards oncoming spacecraft and asteroids alike; they consist of four Friedrich Electric Co. Electromagnetic Railgun Cannons (mounted on a small platform which allows movement/adjustment of angle and direction on 360° axis. Shortest time taken to prepare a shot document at 2.3 seconds. Fires mechanically-loaded 4.5kg shells w/ an estimated maximum TNT equivalent of 5 kilotons), modified with motion-tracking cameras to form turrets with breakneck reaction times. As the vacuum of space lacks the inherent flaws of gravity and air particles, the Railgun Turrets are capable of providing fire that can travel from Mach 2 to Mach 20 without drag or drop. These four are positioned on the radial points of Ring #2 (top, right, left, and south).
The maneuvering boosters of the ship (located on the diagonal radial points of both rings) are medium-sized rockets linked to the fuel canisters of the Base by tubes woven through the struts and into each ring; positioned inside semi-circular grooves within the Rings, they can be pushed out by an electromechanical rod, and angled to help direct the steering of the Avus Dictatorem. The activation and strength of these rockets are automatically controlled by "Columba", the ship's navigational AI.

(FULL HISTORY TO BE UNVEILED AS STORY CONTINUES)
The S.R.C. Avus Dictatorem was originally developed by [REDACTED] as ransom to blackmail issued by "Adolf Beak"; its commissioner was a politician in the Core who ran against Adolf's father, Alois Freud-Schnabell. Adolf had already laid out the groundwork to the Red Plume Private Military Company, and used his father's connections to establish a large number of investors into the intergalactic mercenary corporation.
Before the onset of the Drac-Sectonian War, the ship was manually piloted and lacked the efficiency of automation. However, dedicated research and collaboration between R&D teams from both the Red Plume PMC and Sectonia 8's military resulted in the development of "Columba" and the implementation of turrets on the ship, both relieving the need for constant work by the feeble-sized crew.

Captain: Johann Alleman-Comeau, "Fighter-Captain Junior Grade"
Spoiler O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
The arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You’ve fallen cold and dead.
My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
Two years ago I was assigned to make a video to promote my school's maple sugaring program. Among the footage that had been taken I found a clip of my history teacher talking about decomposing bishops turning into syrup so I made this. A couple of days ago I added some additional audio effects and slapped on the school's logo at the end.
Damn you and your humorous literalism. Damn it to hell.
I JUST WANTED TO MAKE A MERCENARY WARSHIP! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR?
EDIT: Okay. Coming to the conclusion that I have an albino's chance in Yuma to get somebody on my crew, I'll be running with my idea of making a second character. Commander, if you have any complaints, please direct them to me privately. Thank you for your time.
actually the remark was more referring to the fact I had consistently been waiting in the recruitment thread for a third member, then you went ahead and made yer goddamned ship
if you're going to say "you had that Gunner chick that was a WIP" it was more an implication that I NEEDED a third member/gunner than a statement about me wanting to make another; I apologize for any confusion
