Yeah sorry I get a little defensive about music shit. Personally, I think they write interesting music. They do cool shit composition-ally and with textures. Every album is a little (or very) different but still manages to build off of their previous work in interesting ways.

Lyrically TY isn't always great but his stuff seems like stream of consciousness stuff that's so cryptic and vague that it doesn't really matter even when it's not particularly great. I think TY's voice is nice though so again, I find them to be very texturally pleasing.

A lot of people give Radiohead a go because they hear of the critical acclaim, but their genre is too niche for how popular they are, so there is an equal number of people who dislike it because they don't know why it exists, like a lot of other bands with krautrock influences. I think you are just misunderstanding them because they are almost as untouchable as the Beatles.
