Avenue Q is over. What a great fucking production this was. The part where I interact with the audience might be the most fun I've ever had in a show, and I brought the house down a few times which was an awesome feeling. I'm really going to miss it.

Saw a live performance of Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theater in L.A. Even when watching the movie or listening to the soundtrack, it's still really good and a breathtaking performance. The emotion felt real, it was awesome.

You notice each and every one of those things is a switch to turn it off, right? From an IT/Software standpoint, it makes sense.  1) Non-disableable updates: If everyone has the same version of the software, you can plug security leaks across every device as soon as possible. No "legacy" vulnerabilities. How many times have I had to update a relative's computer for 5 hours of downloading patches?  2) Data collection. Software thrives on data. People are different, and it's not like the software will "magically" know when to set an appointment, or what search results are most relevant. It's a bit invasive, sure, but its necessary for the service it provides. If you don't want the service, then turn the data off. 3) Wifi sense is stupid but useful on rare occasions. 4) Device diagnostics. Oh no! They know what temperature you're CPU was at when the system crashed! And what the OS was doing then! That means they can steal your identity, right? No, it means they can patch a bug in the code. They've been doing this for years, but now they'll have data from every time it happens, instead of the handfull of times someone actually clicks "send report." 5) They included auto correct built into the operating system! The gaul!   If you still really want to go off the grid anyway, there's a way.
