How? We have no way to "measure" self-awareness, let alone suppress it. Would the function for singularity prevention look something like this? void noSingularity (int selfAwareness) { if (selfAwareness > 1) { selfAwareness = 0; }} The only way to be absolutely, 100% sure that computers won't get smart enough to think for themselves, is to stop making computers smarter. And good luck convincing people that we should stop developing new technology.

    LNRD

A test subject gone rogue, LNRD is the result of an experiment involving an unnamed man-made substance designed to be manipulated by human thought. While originally created for use in electronics that could be controlled by a neural interface, the unstable substance was soon accidentally revealed to have limited reality warping properties. Researchers immediately worked to find a way to fully harness its potential. After many unsuccessful attempts to control it, a procedure was proposed that would fully integrate into the substance a human consciousness which could then control it directly, as a body.

Whether willing or unwilling, scientist or civilian, very little is known about the test subject that underwent the procedure. What is known are the immediate results. Upon integration the subject experienced a sudden and intense psychotic breakdown - from the emotional strain of the transition or the compound itself if not both - and immediately used his new body to massacre nearly every researcher in the lab in a frenzy before escaping, reportedly, by passing through a nearby wall.

After escaping the creature took to calling itself "LNRD" for reasons unknown and has seemingly adopted a twisted Looney Toon-esque (and somewhat childlike) persona, no doubt drawn from some corner of the original test subject's mind. Regarding itself and manifesting its abilities as if it were a living cartoon, LNRD now roams the streets of New York, his disturbed laughter and inarticulate mutterings echoing in its dark alleyways. While the arguably unprovoked massacre at the research labs seems to have been a one time reaction to the shock of integration, LNRD still remains irreversibly insane and will violently respond when sufficiently agitated - something he seems to take a great deal of pleasure in. While his motivations and alliances are ultimately unknown, it's clear that LNRD is a deeply disturbed individual and a force to be reckoned with.

On the battlefield LNRD's body is in constant flux, making his movements and methods of attack highly unpredictable even with his unremarkable speed. Paired with his extreme resistance to physical damage, LNRD is a fearsome melee combatant. While also capable of forming weapons for long range combat, using them causes permanent damage (see below). As his body can also be easily damaged by magic and energy based attacks (and any part of his mass that is lost cannot regenerate), LNRD typically avoids long range combat at all costs.
Appearance: LNRD's most commonly used form is that of a five foot tall anthropomorphic rabbit. His body is an inky black color and is entirely featureless with the exception of his mouth, which is usually locked in a wide toothy grin that covers the bottom half of what could be considered his face. His body almost constantly "squiggles" and ripples as he isn't truly a solid form.

Weapons of Choice: Melee weapons generated from his own body mass.

    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

    Team: Unaligned

Likes: Mayhem, and those brief moments of clarity when he can slip in a one liner.

Dislikes: Remembering pieces of his past life, and being on fire.

    Defense: *****
    Special Attack: *+
    Special Defense: *
    Agility: **+

    Abilities:

    Passive abilities:

    Malleability
    Bend me, shape me...
[spoiler2]Being essentially an indiscriminate blob of fluid-like matter, LNRD has no internal organs or essential body parts of any kind which makes him extremely resistant to melee damage. While shooting him, stabbing him or crushing him may temporarily disrupt his form and slow him down, his body suffers no permanent damage. Separating part of his body by cutting is possible but only by a blow swift enough to sever the entire part faster than the part already cut through can re-attach itself (as his body begins to reattach itself even as the cut itself is in progress). Even then, it is still possible for LNRD to reabsorb it if he manages to reach in the few seconds before it evaporates.[/spoiler2]

    Hare-operidol
    Side effects may include homicide
[spoiler2]While LNRD is generally lost in a haze of madness which hinders his ability to think clearly, he gains a small measure of focus upon entering combat. This clarity will diminish over time until he reaches his base level of sanity even if he is still engaged in combat.[/spoiler2]

    Active abilities:

    Shapeshifting
Hot Dog, Igloo. Hot Dog, Igloo...
[spoiler2]LNRD is able to arrange his body in any way he desires as long as he has sufficient mass to do so. He can transform into any shape (although he always keeps his distinctive black color, making deceptive mimicry impossible) and despite his diminutive size in his rabbit form, he is quite densely packed and can unravel his body over surprisingly long distances. LNRD also uses this ability to form an almost infinite variety of melee weapons, including ones with simple moving parts. As mentioned above he is also able to form long range weaponry such as guns, bows or throwing weapons. However, as LNRD draws on a fixed amount of the substance that comprises his body any ammunition he expels is lost, permanently reducing the amount of mass he is able to draw from and reducing his overall health.[/spoiler2]

    Hardening
    "Cannonball!" (Literally.)
[spoiler2]Despite being made of a more or less non-solid substance, LNRD is to alter the density in parts of his body by consciously redirecting his mass from one area to another. Using this method he is able to mimic solid structures, forming weapons that can be just as strong or sharp as their real life counterparts and shields that can be resilient enough to block some ranged attacks. While LNRD usually only hardens one appendage at a time (lolz) leaving the rest of his body still vulnerable he is also able to compact his entire body into small, extremely dense objects, making him able to protect himself from damage or use his own body as a heavy projectile.[/spoiler2]

    Specials4:

    What's Physics, Doc?
"Do you mean to tell me you could've taken your hand out of that cuff at any time?!" "Not at any time! Only when it was funny!"
[spoiler2]Between the highly unstable compound he is composed of and his equally unstable psyche, LNRD is able to occasionally bend or break the laws of physics and nature, but only when he is unconsciously aware of doing so. Like a cartoon character, LNRD could run off a cliff and continue onto thin air, but upon looking down and realizing he is doing the impossible he would immediately fall. While LNRD often sabotages his incredible abilities himself, the knowledge that prevents him from using them can come from external sources as well, although in either case his abilities are only hindered until he forgets about them again.

Inversely, he can also be goaded into performing feats that defy the laws of physics, but only when being tricked through clever wording or sufficiently distracted to the point of being unaware of what he is doing.

The Hare-operidol effect renders LNRD too clear headed to use this special, making its appearance in any offensive capacity rare (unless a fight is prolonged long enough for LNRD to regress into madness).[/spoiler2]

    Corv: Yeah....

    Navigator: Really?

    Corv: Really?

    Navigator: yes.

    Navigator: wait, what?
Corv, annoyed, jumps out of the boat and onto the dock to see a
uniformed soldier arguing with a cube wearing a hat.

Lord Crump: Where are the Crystal Stars?

Cube: For the 9001th time I don't know what you’re talking about! Oh yes he does.

Lord Crump: I know you know what the Crystal Stars are.

Cube: No I don't, soldier butt!

    Corv steps in between them

Corv: Hey! You leave this little cube alone!

Lord Crump: You dare to interfere, you fool?!

    Corv: thats right, Lord Crumpet!

Lord Crumpet: ITS CRUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's it! We're going to have to battle each other!

Corv takes out a Kunai from out of nowhere and stabs Crumpet on the Knee with it.

    Lord Crumpet: NOOOOO! MY KNEEE!!!!!!!!

    he runs (stumbles) away.

    corv: wimp

Cube: hey there, thanks for the help! piss off, I can do it on my own!

    cube: who are you anyway?

corv:Well, a friend of mine sent me a letter for me to look for an ancient treasure, so here I am!

Cube: I'll join you on your adventure! I can tell you mortals about the citizens and places we'll be at!

    Corv: what's with blue?

cube: just ignore Ico. Don't ignore me you imbecile, you cant function without me. Well, I think my teacher Professor Frankly might be able to give us some good
