Simple. You don't. Titans are the largest ships in the game, and cost roughly £900 (which is roughly 60 Billion ISK) but they're provided by your corporation (guild) or your Alliance to be used in VERY specific times, and the corps and alliances big enough to be able to afford a Titan have ways of getting crazy amounts of ISK, so the player that flys the Titan isn't actually the owner of the ship. They're used so little, and very rarely get destroyed. The stories you hear of thousands of dollars of stuff being lost are so incredibly rare because they involve thousands, or tens of thousands of players losing massive amounts low value ships, alongside large alliances losing a few high value ships. The average player doesn't fly anything even CLOSE to the value of the largest ships. Maybe ships that cost £15 at MOST (and would only get destroyed if the person flying them was dumb as shit). The thing is the cost of a ship doesn't correlate to how good it is. For example when I last played I was flying stuff that cost roughly 5 million ISK per ship (so about £0.075) but was useful because I would be one of the people scouting systems and engaging fights for the rest of my fleet. tl;dr: if you can afford to subscribe to eve then the amount that you would lose by getting your ship destroyed is so small that it probably doesn't even matter to you.
