Payday 2 recouped its cost and made a profit before it was even released. Don't fucking pull the "little guy just needs some support" card. "Independent"? Yes, Overkill, a STARBREEZE studio is certainly standing alone. And even if they weren't, pumping out DLC after DLC (in the past three months there have been 5 paid DLCs, 6 if you count the COMPLETELY OVERKILL pack) in order to remain independent is so insane it's hilarious. Why fear becoming one with the conglomerate when you do the exact same shitty practices as them? Really, how much DLC would they have to put out before you say "Too much"? $50? $100? $1000?

I've been meaning to make this for months so hear it is. Whilst this is going to be very heavily anime based feel free to post whatever you want you related, think of it was the a splinter of the Want Thread, statues are fine too. It has probably been quite evident I've gotten quite into Toy Collecting in the past 6 months. Started with the NECA Preds, into 3A and now with Figmas (and i'm pretty happy with Figmas at the moment probably until I run out of characters that I like). I've also gained quite a big insight into the world toy collecting be it through /toy/ being my main board now, dozens of forums and ordering about £1500 from China/Japan in the last 6 months. So to start with, links to websites that I've gotten the most use out of with some description. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Mandarake http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/ Mandy, the store i've used the most and will continue to use for a long time. It is a secondhand store (stores based around Japan), but the only thing that means is they don't take pre-orders and don't have an connections with the suppliers. Usually items are unopened in box and if not are usually mint anyway (Japanese collectors are A LOT more anal when it comes to "mint in the box"). When Mandarake say there is "slight box damage" that usually means it has been subject to the very harsh weathering that a slight breeze might incur. Incoming stock is updated on the site bi-daily (A smaill update at the end the day and the rest in the morning). The one problem that can happen on Mandy is that because it is still a retail store, whilst your order is pending it is entirely possible that it is bought before you get your invoice through, (The process is Add to Cart -> Order -> Mandy Employees physically go and find the product to make sure it's in stock -> Invoice ->Shipping details sent) and considering these are big stores, it's usually a 1-3 day wait. I do recommend Mandy assuming you're not looking for rare items because they will be gone by the time your invoice is sent. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ BigBadToyStore http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/default.aspx BBTS, I don't really know a lot about BBTS, it functions in the same way as AmiAmi but has a smaller selection of Asian stuff and a much larger selection of Western stuff. If you're into any Marval/DC or Star Wars lines i'd recommend, Transformers as well but i'm not too familiar with both the site and the pricing on their western stuff. They do however take pre-orders for Asain toys but it is slightly ramped up because of import charges, can also be quite expensive to use out of America. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ AmiAmi http://www.amiami.com/ AmiAmi, probably the most used site for pre-orders/secondhand items. AmiAmi have a a lot to offer. If it's coming from Japan in the future, it will be there to pre-order, not just toys but DVD/Games, Clothing, Manga and I think i've seen Dakis on there too (STAY AWAY FROM PRE-OWNED DAKIS PLEASE). However if you are planning to use AmiAmi, more so for Pre-orders than Secondhands, is make sure you have the funds in your account at the time of billing. AmiAmi is no nonsense when it comes to this shit. First strike and you're out and they very rarely take excuses so be careful if you pre-order far into the future. I haven't heard a lot of postive things about their customer service either bu each to their own on that. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ They are the big three in my opinion, but other useful sites include HobbyLink Japan - http://www.hlj.com/ - HLJ, I barely know anything about HLJ, almost looks like Mandarake with a more limited stock. GoodSmile Company's own store - http://goodsmile-global.ecq.sc/ - GSC, the producers of Nendoroids and at this point a lot of Figma often have exclusives for pre-ordering through them (Figma Satsuki [Kill La Kill] comes with Bakzuan Gako and Koury as pre-order exclusives) Amazon JP - http://www.amazon.co.jp/ - Kind of speaks for itself really, just the jap version of Amazon. Never used it myself, think you might need to a proxy to make orders though Ebay - http://www.ebay.com/ - Another obvious one, if you really really can't find something anywhere else, try Ebay. This is where you need to be on Red Alert though. As a general rule of thumb DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM CHINA OR MARKED AS 100% CHINA VERSION; Not everything from China is a bootleg but we're talking 99% here, and China Version items are 100% bootlegs. I'm going to grab some posts underneath this to continue and not overload a single post.

Starbreeze WAS in a financial rut. But then Payday 2 came along and lifted them out of it. And if it didn't, it proves they're shitty at managing money and that any money they make milking Payday 2 isn't going to go to a good cause. And besides, it's not a fucking charity, it's a business. If they make a product you like, buy it. Don't buy it just because you want to support them, for God's sake.

Boston - More Than a Feeling I don't actually have anything to say here. 1. Nightwish - Escapist a nightingale in a golden cage~ And now for soundtracks because I feel like it. I did one per franchise because otherwise I'd be sorting for days. 5. Two Steps From Hell - Protectors of the Earth Since I can't just say "literally everything they've ever produced" and call it a day, I picked the one with the highest play count in my iTunes. 4. Fate Stay Night - Emiya, Movie Version I am praying the new show does Emiya well. It's probably the franchise's signature theme, and it's really good. 3. Kingdom Hearts - Hollow Bastion The music for this level is so good I honestly thought it would be the last level of the game when I first played it. 2. Pokemon Gold/Silver - Champion Theme God, they knew what they were doing. 1. Mass Effect 2 - Suicide Mission Incredible last level, even more incredible soundtrack. I could listen to this for hours on end and not get bored.

Part 2 Right, next comes brands/specific toy lines. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Figma Produced by Max Factory, but also has a very close relationship with GoodSmile Complany In my opinion, Figmas are fantastic, they cover a lot of anime series and are of a good scale (1/12) and are also faily sturdy so it's hard to hamhand most of them.. They also come with a lot of accessories , normally 5 pairs of hands and multiple face-plates. The stands are usually also very sturdy. The articulation is also very strong, the joints are really tight and have pretty much free movement. You're also in luck if you like Kantai Collection, fuck boats though. A Checklist of all the Figmas made to date is available here: '> ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Nendoroids Produced by GoodSmile Company Much like Figma they also cover a very large amount of anime but they play on the Chibi style which I don't really like in most cases as the proportions feel just a bit too off. Get used to Nendo's are judging from WonFes '15, Nendo's are becoming more and more popular. Nendo's don't usually have as many accessories and 1-2 Faceplates and the only aticulation they usually have is at the neck/upper arm/thigh, so not a lot Think of these are Japanese Funko Pops but not shit, a waste of money and accompanied by shoddy QC. I don't have a checklist for these but as a quick google of "Character Nendo" will usually yield some clarity. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Cu-Poche Produced by Kotobukiya Cu-Poche's are pretty much taller articulated Nendo's which I really like. Sadly there's isn't a very large amount of choice when it comes to Cu-Poches. The stands are also really unique where they mix the square nendo base/stand with a magnetic plate that connects to the magnets held in the shoes of the fig. Same case as Nendo's with accessories, though i've heard that it's possible to swap Nendo/Cu-Poches faceplates with each other ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Revoltech Produced by kaiyodo Revoltech as a link as really average. Kaiyodo likes to take the design of source and play a bit with the design, not so much that you wouldn't recognize the character but it gives them a bit of an edge. They do however offer characters that haven't really been touched by other producers (namely the Lupin III figs). The biggest problem with Revoltech is the joints, which they are ironically quite proud of in design. The joints are ratcheted so they'll click a lot if you move them, it also means you can pose them as well. It doesn't make them unposable bu it is a complaint that a lot of people have. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Figuarts Produced by Bandaii Figuarts are kind of in a weird place because they've been split into a lot of different groups so quality often is quite variable. The main lines are: S.H Figuarts - There flagship group, main products include a lot of Super Sentai stuff and a lot of DBZ Stuff D-Arts - Focuses more on things like Pokemon, Digimon, Megaman (Best line for articulated Pokemon Toys, but good luck finding Charizard for a decent price) S.H Monster Arts - Usually focus of Kaiju, but they've also done a Predator and Alien fig The articulation is usually considered the best of all the toy-lines other than maybe Saint Seiya ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Super Action Statue (SAS) Produced by Medicos Super Action Statue are probably known for their JoJo's Bizarre Adventure toys, they have done other stuff in the past (Kinnikuman) but they are full steam ahead on JoJo, however they did show a Parasyte fig at WonFes '15 so who knows. Articulation in on par with Figmas, never shown a lot of interest in JoJo so something I haven't had any experience with. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Real Action Heroes (RAH) Produced by Medicom First of, these things are huge, this is a 1/6 scale line. The second, these things are gorgeous, but expensive. The only experience I have with these are the Madoka RAHs but they are fantastic, they are pretty much big figmas except their cloths are made of real materials.
