Fair enough - I'd say the whole event, as free DLC, was about three stars when it was advertised as a five star event - although I should note that in my entire history with this game and with this thread, I've never met anyone who was happy with changes in Payday. Seems that nothing Overkill adds to the game is "worth it." It confuses me. Here's a confused face. .3. Let me tell ya right now, there have been plenty of other things in the history of this game that have been fuckin' amazing. Overkill have received the people's praises time and time again despite being terribly incompetent developers who somehow managed to cobble together a great game. We've gotten amazing content like big bank, hotline miami, election day, shadow raid, infamy update, deathwish, and then they bring out crimefest. Spoilered because long. Spoiler The long awaited Hoxton breakout, something people petitioned for since the release of the game and have wanted since it's release. They hype people up over the span of two months and then crimefest starts and we get this extremely mediocre series of "sort of what we promised but not really" content. I'll even go over them one by one for ya. PAYDAY the heist for free is great. I have no qualms with that whatsoever, that's nice, it's a great game, 90% off for the dlc and soundtrack is fantastic too. The creatures meetup.. well alright I didn't pay attention to this so I can't really comment on it. The creatures stream... alright you're getting us more hype for the big day teasing us with trailers of things to come, announcing the overkill store, and streaming a bunch of people who can barely play the game on normal despite being level 100. Whatever, that's fine. 2 new clown masks, alright, that's absolutely great, fantastic, I love em, they're good. Not much of a day or something you advertised but sure, I'll take it. And then the perk trees is where things start to get iffy...They're good, the balance changes are all fantastic, and I'm glad for that but with the balance changes Overkill just suddenly gimped dodge for anyone without suit and got rid of tier bonuses. I mean I guess it's alright, it's still a bit buggy but it's a welcome change to the game. They're trying to balance the game which is great, something they haven't done in a while, and these changes are a step in the right direction, so hats off to ya overkill. An announcement. Ok. Then we get to John Fuckin' Wick. This is where things start to get really iffy. My major problem with John Wick is that he was our big 1.5 million people secret, and he kinda sucks to be frank. Everything about him seems so rushed and awful, his voice actor is kinda bad, the model doesn't look that much like reeves, his deck is awful and akimbo is just complete crap. Nowhere near what anyone thought it would be. So anyways, our big 1.5 million people in the payday group is just a poorly done advertisement who was awkwardly shoehorned into the game. I mean what kind of a goddamn story is "He knew chains and he helped him out once"? I would've been fine with Wick if he had at least gotten a good right instead of this stupid shit. Two more clown masks, and DON'T FORGET TO WATCH JOHN WICK IN THEATERS GUYS. Why the fuck did they stretch over 4 masks over the course of 2 days? They're just trying to extend crimefest, this entire thing coulda been packed into 6 days if it wasn't for them taking their sweet time (for no reason) Then we get art gallery which is probably one of the worst heists in the game at the moment, just because of how painfully dull it is. Framing frame is already an rng-bullshit broken ass stealth heist as it stands, day 1 is nowhere near any fun. It's just crap, but I don't think anyone was expecting this to be very good. That added in with the extremely underwhelming day/night heists is pretty bad. We got 1 & a half days with slightly changed skyboxes, and that's it. The crimefest banner for this showed rats, and they didn't even add that. I'm no expert on making video games but reskinning a heist doesn't seem to be anywhere near difficult. Also the fact that you can't pick the day/night, getting the added day breaks achievements for dw, and they originally didn't have assets available is the laziest thing ever. More DLC later, who cares. New shitty shotgun and new shitty mask, who cares. They hype it up for over two months, and then they hype old hox for well over a year, and then suddenly the big day comes and... it's kinda crap. We get an inferior version of heat street from payday the heist & a mix between a vlad heist and hotline miami. Day 1 is probably one of the most boring heists I've ever played, you follow a truck that moves a whole 2 miles per hour and move shit out of its way, and tell the driver to move because he's too stupid to look out the goddamn window. Then after that we just go to an fbi building to find out who ratted out Hox because why not? Then you run around the map a la hotline miami for a while and leave. It just seems so poorly done and rushed, it makes me so disappointed. This heist doesn't stack up to anything else in the game, not big bank, not hotline miami, not jewelry store, nothing. I mean at least with a vlad job you know what you're getting is gonna be shit, but with this I was expecting something amazing. And lastly, my last hope for crimefest, is the new enemy & fbi files. I am so incredibly glad they decided to take their time on this because these two things could be really fucking good if they take their goddamn time on them and don't rush em out as soon as they can. My only sin was expecting too much of overkill. They aren't evil developers capable of doing no good, they've shown that plenty of times in the past, and people have praised them for it. Payday isn't a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, it's currently one of the most played games on steam. But goddamn, not only did they not meet what people had expected for the event, they fucking hit you on the fucking head with the disappointment bat. Yeah sure they did it for free, but that doesn't mean it should've been as pathetic as it turned out to be. If we sound ungrateful it's because there's not much to be grateful for. 12 days of one of the most anticipated events in the history of PAYDAY and we get a vlad-tier heist and a slight rebalance. So yeah.

So, today I carved a pumpkin that I got when me and my mom went to a farm yesterday to pick apples. The nose is a baby carrot. I'll get a better picture one my phone has charged. How do your pumpkins look?

Some more thoughts on this update. Carne Vale is great, glad it got used in a flash. I hope we hear some more stuff from Cherubim in the future. The art collaboration was also very nice. In some places at least, the less said about Karkats anime running the better. But the opening shots of them where they looked like this were cool. The main consensus for all this shit seems to be that this is all a doomed timeline. When Aranea puts on the life ring, Meenah tells her all she is going to end up doing is making a doomed timeline where everyone dies. Aranea says this is intentional and she is going to use her Sylph powers to 'heal' this timeline to be the alpha one. This flash, and an unknown number of events leading up to it, are her failing to do so. The flash makes a bunch of references to Homestuck's Doom aspect, symbolised by red fire. Also there's the number 2 fucking everywhere in the flash, look at all the twos and pairs, and the guy who is all about 2 is the Doom guy. There is a good reason why by the end of the flash, Terezi is still alive. I don't know what it is, but in the past, she has created one doomed timeline that was essential to the story (the one that made Davesprite), stopped another from happening (by killing Vriska), and also did that one thing with Dave where she flipped a coin. So its likely that if there is some timeline shenanigans, she will be a part of them. The other important thing is that Roxy and Rose survived, and went to the Furthest Ring or whatever. The other thing from the first important doomed timeline, along with Davesprite, was Dream Doomed Rose's memories. Its likely that this will happen again, or something similar to it. The reason the flash is called Game Over is because it is just that, it is a bad end. The reason a flash as big as that one was needed to be used to show it is because although it isn't the correct, alpha timeline events, someone or something important is going to go back in time from it, like as a warning. How this happens might be John "retconning" shit, or through use of conventional time travel: Gamzee has those music box time machines still on his corpse (?). We will probably end up back when Caliborn put that cartridge in with all the dust in it (also helping to fuck up the events of the story), possibly blown out by John, with a nice little reset. All of this might be horseshit though, and everyone might be 100% RIP with no god tier clocks or life rings to bring them back (MAYBE Jane can). In that case we are left with a cast of Condesce Aranea (who is getting murdered) Terezi (fatally wounded) Rose (fatally wounded) Roxy (A-OK) Dirk Jack Noir Alpha session Jack Spades Slick, Ms Paint and the Felt The sprites maybe? Lord English Caliborn And, most importantly, Casey Von Salamancer, who is probably the best bet at defeating English at this rate. And there's a hint on the blog that there'll be something else clmk g today.
